I'm in need of ideas for winter worthy wedding venues for a December wedding, preferably close to the Eugene Springfield metro area of Oregon but doesn't have to be . Something gorgeous, romantic, suited for a medium sized ceremony less than or close to 100 150 people , and doesn't cost an arm, leg, and first born child. Anyone know of anywhere?Locations near and far but already noted Broken Top Club Oregon Golf Club King Estate Winery Columbia Gorge Hotel Elsinore Theater The Willamette QueenEven though a lot of these are nice, none of them feel like " the one" yet. Do I have to wear something over a sleeveless dress to a formal winter wedding?
My husband's cousin is getting married in Delaware in the middle of January. The ceremony is in a church and then the reception is in a very nice hotel. I bought a floor length black formal dress that is sleeveless. I am a VERY hot natured person, do I have to wear something over the dress? Also can I wear strappy dress shoes?I'm fairly short and will probably wear approximately a 3 inch heel.

Is it possible to have an outdoor winter wedding in the snow?
ok so me and my fiance have our hearts set on having a winter wedding outside in the snow. we're going to keep the ceremony outdoors and as short as possible and we might get heat lamps for the ceremony too but idk because what if the heat melts the snow? , and the reception will be indoors with heating and a fireplace and warm food and drinks.but my fiance and i found this venue called the ice hotel that's in sweden. the entire hotel is made out of ice and we saw the pics and it was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful we are also considering having our ceremony there in their wedding chapel yes the chapel is also entirely made out of ice and then moving to another indoor reception with heating and warm food and drinks.so which idea do you think is better??? also either way the guests will be cold, i know that, but which idea do you think would be better in terms of looking better?? we already checked the prices and either idea will be about the same cost and fits our budget.oh yeah and im going to wear a sleeveless dress with thermal wear underneath and opera length gloves and a faux fur cape. my fiance will wear a tux with thermal wear underneath too. and the invitations will have a winter theme to reflect the winter wonderland idea so guests will know that and i'll mention to dress warmly on the invitations and our wedding website too.so do you think this could work because this is our dream to have a winter wonderland wedding thank you so much guys the floor is actually just the snow, and there are cushions on the seats.also another reason why we want to go to the ice hotel is because of the northern lights watching the northern lights up close and personal is a once in a lifetime chance, and we would love it if our guests could view it with us too

Need help with winter wedding colors?
My fiance and I are planning a late January early February wedding and have no idea on colors. We don't want the typical red or green. We'd like something more modern and formal. The event will be formal i.e. black tie and take place in the late afternoon evening, with a reception to follow. The venue is a large ballroom with natural wood beams on the ceiling and floor to ceiling windows on one wall. Any suggestions?Pictures would be a bonus of colors or decorations .

Winter wedding cake flavor/filling combinations?
I want a flavor combination that's unique, it doesn't have to associate with winter. I've considered chocolate w orange filling, purple velvet w raspberry filling, green tea, and devil's w candy cane...But I'm still looking for more ideas.I know that some of you will say that I should stick with traditional flavors, like white, chocolate, etc., but I'm gonna provide a few " safe" dessert options for guests who don't like the wedding cake. I'm not sure if the children should have a slice of cake because my caterer is offering children's dessert for free brownies and ice cream while the wedding cake will be at least $10 per serving.Stella, if you're going to answer my question, answer it right. I asked for cake flavor and filling ideas, not pricing commentary. My fiance and I have a right to spend our well earned money however we want, and if we want to spend it on cake, so be it. It's not like we control what our venue caterer charges for cake, anyway.
