I have seen copyrighted songs used in almost all the wedding videography companies. It seems that nothing is going to happen to these guys. I am sure that the producers and or composers of the songs are aware of this, then, why is that nothing happens to those who use those songs?Think about this I go a store, get a Coke and the owner tells me you can not leave without paying for the bottle. I answer I am not planning to sell it. Can I take it now?I produce weddings on video and post them on the net. I am afraid that if I start taking copyrighted songs I can finish in jail, or something.I think you didn't understand the example of the bottle of Coke. I didn't say I was going to pay for it. I said " I am not paying because I am not planning to drink it, therefore I can take the bottle with me" . You dont read?I produce the weddings on video, to make money out of it. That's the whole pount of producing something.Money. Therefore, I am stealing, if I dont pay the royalties.The bottle of Coke represents the songs . If I say I can take the songs because I am not making any money out of it that's not the problem of Coca Cola company. You take something you pay. In songs thats called royalties.The music is not for my enjoyment is for add it to a DVD which will be sold to a client. Therefore I am doing money. Whether I use it for a couple of newlyweds doesn't make the penalty less. It's stealing as jaywalking is a misdemeanor whether the cops see you or not.Keep doing what?So cheap and tacky.I can tell I scared you. Now thats funny.

Well Im going to be a freelance wedding videographer how much should I charge? Im getting either a new Mini DV shoulder camcorder or an old VHS shoulder camcorder and I have a tripod going to college for Animation, Computer Design for 4 years, and Videography for 2 years and have Sony Vegas Platinum 10 what should I start out charging? There seems to be no competition here except for Photographers I use Lightscribe DVDS I do all of the burning of the DVDs and the editing I do it all how much should I charge like $200?Also I will do other ceremonies etc

I'm taping my first wedding today and yes i have experience but not in taping weddings. I have a degree in broadcasting video and audio . I will be there before the ceremony and at the reception dance. So It will be about 9 hours or so. And then I'm editting it at the end. So how much do I charge?

My husband and I are film students and own a film production company, and we're looking to start filming weddings. Wedding Videography Help?
I need your help. My Fiancee and I are trying to settle a disagreement. He seems to think if we get pictures we do not need a video of our wedding. I think they both have different ways of capturing the day. He suggested we have a close family member video tape to save us money however this will probably be passed around to several people to video tape through out the day. Opinions from men and women would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has done this please let us know how it turned out.

Brides If you hired a wedding videographer, and the videographer only had ONE camera, what angle or what shot would you prefer for the ceremony?Close up of brides face? Grooms face? Long shot of the ceremony, as close up as possible of the bride and broom framed together? as if from the audience Keep in mind this shot will show your backs most of the time as you will be facing the wedding officiant and not the camera.Assume the camera will not be changing locations during the ceremony.I will be filming some weddings and would like input as to what would be most desirable.Thanks
