Frugal wedding tips- can you cut this budget for me?
Okaaay I have the following left to pay for for the wedding that is September 6th.DJ $200Minister $200Marriage license $100Bridal party gifts 4 of them $150candy buffet instead of favours $150groomsmen golfing morning of wedding $100wedding bands $300clothing for our kids to wear to wedding $125rehersal dinner night before for close family friends $250Hair makeup $100thank you cards for after wedding & shower $40Rest of the catering bill $400 parents are paying other $3000 I am thinking about skipping getting my hair & makeup done and doing it myself. I am buying basic blank cards from a craft store and stamping my own thank you cards. We have a contract with the DJ otherwise we would just use a laptop for music... but we can't now.We're not handing out favours, but having a candy buffet. Buying candy in bulk, putting it in bowls and stamping white paper bags with our wedding colours and design. how can I cut down on bridal party gift costs? I paid for their dresses. I am really trying to keep their gifts at around $100, not the budgeted $150... was thinking about framing a nice picture of me with each of the girls and giving them as gifts, along with a mini spa kit bath bombs, lotions, scrubs, etc .I just bought the dress for my daughter on clearance for $19 now my son needs khakis, a white golf shirt, and both kids need shoes. Was thinking about how to spend less on the rings a brushed white gold titanium silver band for hubby, and a white gold band for myself. Where is the cheapest we can get them? Online is fine, as long as they will arrive on time.I also need to buy the following tea lightsspool of raffiawhite paper bagsplacecards & bulletin board for place cardsmini plant pots with greenery in themtullegreen and chocolate brown ribbonsome fake green button mums or something similara big wreath form to make a wreath with the flowersany ways i can cut down these costs even more? I only have like $2000 TOPS for the rest of this And what is the ettiquette on tipping the caterer minister dj?Thanks

I just got engaged two days ago and now it's time to start planning I would love tips and hints about everything. Please help me out. How much should I expect to spend? We want to have a standard Catholic wedding, nothing too fancy though. A semi large reception with an open bar. We plan to have family help with food so catering won't be needed.What are some ways to cut costs because lets face it, weddings are very expensive.Thanks
What beach wedding destination is better? Beach wedding tips? HELP!?
I live in the Pittsburgh PA, we are looking to have a beach wedding. I really like Myrtle beach. My parents are pushing for Virginia beach since its closer. I was wondering what beach is better?We are planning either a late April 2011 or an early Oct 2011 wedding. Depending on how money & vacation days from work works out. My parents have never been to either beach, I have only been to Myrtle once my fiance & his family have been going to Myrtle for years. Neither of our families are paying for our wedding. That is why we picked an destination wedding its cheaper. My parents will help pay for the " welcome back" picnic at their house when we come back. Our plan is to find a house on the beach, have just the bridal party stay with us for a few days. Get married & then kick everyone out so we can have some kind of " honeymoon" . My fiance will only have 5 days vacation at that time. I don't care if people stay in the area but we need our own space then.If everyone we invite comes & brings a guest we will have 26 people coming to our wedding that includes bride & groom but I don't see his sisters bring any one, our rule is you have to be dating them at least 6 months we are paying for random people to come to the biggest day of our life then never see them again Wedding party can bring who ever.His sisters are the only ones that have that rule. I told the 1 about it today...to be honest his sisters are the type that will invite some random guy. Just to say they brought a date. Who will be under age want to drink, want to party & want us or their mom to pay for EVERYTHING. The reason why they aren't bridesmaids is for that reason. They are very immature.

i know this has probably been asked 1,000,000 times, but i need to know A how many people did you invite to your wedding, and how many actually came?B what was the total cost of your wedding. not including ringsC did you have a wedding planner, and how much did the charge? I want my ceremony to be outside and my reception inside. or should I also have it outside??the theme of my wedding is EXTREMELY ROMANTIC. I want everything to be ultra romantic and candle lite ect. So I am just looking for cheap and creative ideas. my budget is $10,000 for the ceremony and reception but the more money we save the better honeymoon we get so we are both trying to save every penny we can. thank you soo much for any tips ideas advice do & don't it's VERY helpful I have one more question, is $10,000 to cheap ? or should we be saving more?

Hi all,My fiance and I have been together four years now, engaged for just over a year. We ve decided to tie the knot next year We ll be getting married abroad just me and him, spending a lovely honeymoon together before returning to the UK for a meal with close family and friends followed by a reception. I was basically wondering if anyone has any tips, tricks or advice for planning a wedding and ensuring a prefect day?
Do It Yourself Wedding Tips!?
Okay so first off I am getting married on May 23, 2009 and I am pretty much just working on the little details. Since we are on a budget we are pretty much doing everything ourselves. As far as the photography we are having a friend take the pictures for us. I dont see the need to spend thousands of dollars on a photographer. Also we are having two or my fiances friends be our D.J.'s. I am just pretty much having them introduce our parents, the bridal party and then us. I also am having them say something a little bit before we cut the cake and do the special dancing. Does anybody think I should have them say anything else. Just making sure I'm not missing anything. Also what order do things normally get done at a wedding reception? The reception is from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. So I figured to introduce everybody would take about 15 to 20 minutes. Then I didnt know if we should eat. buffet style . So I just need some ideas on the order we should do things. I dont want his two friends to have to do to much. Thank you to anybody for their good advice.
Planning my wedding :) Tips?
So we recently started planning our wedding for Spring 2012. Just wondering if anyone had any tip or helpful info? I already have my bridesmaids dresses picked out along with everyone's shoes and I have my dress down to 2. I am signed up on theknot.com also. Thanks I know we are having an outside ceremony and indoor reception, our guest size is around 200. So I do have that figured out. We also do have our colors picked out already, obviously since I have BM dresses. We have a bidgetish lol. My parents at putting in 10K and then what we spend over that is on us. I've been trying to get a lot of cheap ideas, so any cheap ideas are great, and I want a DIY centerpiece. I am planning with with my fiance, my cousin and my old neighbor from when I was a kid, also another cousin is helping me. Just didn't know if there were any hidden secrets to know about, or other websites. We do plan on attending a bridal show in Feb. I'm trying to get a jump start on things lol figure hopefully less stress? Although I know that no stress isn't possible. Kristy Note, I said we will be paying whatever is over 10k, which is fine by us. With picking spring, we really wanted to do an outdoor wedding.
