Wedding Photography Disaster Fraud Wedding Photographer?
My wedding was supposed to be the best day of my life but it turned into a nightmare with a wedding photographer from hell and it still makes me cry thinking about it. When the guy showed up he was wearing dark jeans and a button up shirt with a stain on the back of it. He was told that it was formal attire and I would have expected for him to be dressed accordingly, but he wasn't.During the night a friend came up to me and said she was walking back to her table and that he walked into her, she said that she even tried moving out of his way when she noticed he wasn't paying attention but he still managed to walk into her, but then gave her an attitude over it. She also said that he had a very strong odor of alcohol on his breath.Since I didn't see it for myself, I didn't want to overreact, but I told my husband about it and we watched him closely throughout the night. Then we seen him going over to the bar, and since we had an open bar there was one bar for alcohol and another for non alcohol and our wedding vendors were asked not to drink alcohol since they were working but they're welcome to get free non alcoholic drinks from the other bar.This wedding photographer ignored my request, and was even sneaky about it. We watched him go over to our gift table and put his camera underneath it, and then he walked over to the open bar and was ordering drinks with alcohol, and not one, but two. He downed one as he was walking away and put the empty glass down on one of the tables my guests were sitting at, and then went back over to the gift table where he put his camera and started sorting through the cards in our basket as he was drinking the 2nd alcohol filled drink that he got. Now I was pissed off, and so was my husband. I was getting up to go over to him but my husband told me to stay sitting down and he called his brother over to our table. He told him what was going on and said that he doesn't want either of us to go over there because we're both too upset and he doesn't want to cause a scene, so his brother said he would take care of it quietly.He left and went over talking to him and then came back over to us and said that he told him that he should not be drinking alcohol, and he was already asked not to, and he should not keep his camera near our gift table or go through our cards. He said that the wedding photographer got rude with him and told him to mind his own business, and that he had to walk away before we hit him.By this point there was only another hour left, or just under, and I knew if this wedding photographer from hell pointed his camera in my direction that I would not end up with the memories I would want later, so we decided that we would let him leave earlier and since we already paid him in full, we would just tell him not to worry about the last hour so that way we don't have to worry about more problems with getting our wedding pictures back from him.So we did just that, and he was very upset about it, and most likely he was more upset that we caught him doing this than he was upset about getting paid for time that he didn't have to work.A couple weeks had gone by and we didn't hear back from him yet, so we thought it would be best if we called him to check on our wedding photos, but he didn't answer and two days went by with no call back, so we tried emailing. I got a delivery confirmation letting me know he opened my email, but he didn't reply. Now I'm getting pissed off even more at this WORSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER EVER So I called again and left a message on the phone and then sent another email saying exactly what I also said on my phone message, and I told him that if I don't hear back from him that I'm going to call the police and report him for fraud.That got his attention and he emailed us back and said that he was very offended that we asked him to leave our wedding... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? This fraud wedding photographer from hell had some nerve saying we offended him when he was at our wedding getting drunk more than he was working and he was getting us and our guests upset more than he was getting everyone to smile for our wedding pictures.So I called him to say exactly this to the jerk, and since I knew he wouldn't answer my call, or a private number, I used my neighbors phone to call, and of course he answered for her number He got an attitude with me when I spoke my mind, yelled at me, and said you will get your wedding pictures when I feel like getting them to you... OMG I'm still in shock over it, and this was almost two weeks ago and its now been almost four months since our wedding. So should I call the police or go to the court... or what should I do?I'm not sure what else to say or do at this point and need help or advice because I just want my wedding pictures. He is a wedding photographer from Austin Texas and his name is JuaThank you for the suggestions. Just to add to this, we did ask for and spoke with references, but now that I think about it, this just makes me wonder if the people we talked to were even real references, or possibly just his friends or family. Also, we found him online, and didn't see anything bad about him, but then again there wasn't much of anything that I found, so I just assumed nothing is better than bad things. I already threatened him over email with small claims court and he didn't take me serious, so I don't think he is afraid of that, but what if I file and he doesn't show up? I have never been through this before and it's very hard for me to think clearly because of how emotional I'm getting over this situation.
