Contemporary wedding music ideas?
I am planning my upcoming wedding and do not want any of the traditional boring wedding music played. I am not getting married in a church so, it's not going to offend anyone or be against any rules. I can choose whatever I want. Can anyone give me some ideas for the prelude, processional one for guys, one for girls and me , and the recessional? I want to know where I can find out the legalities of playing secular music in a church wedding service. Have scrolled through the internet but can't find anything that gives me a clear answerFor those that have said about asking the vicar pastor she wasn't sure herself, especially if it is recorded as well. In terms of what she will allow us to play she is a huge fan of The Rolling Stones so anything goes
Where can I find wedding music books or music for Viola or Violin?
My parents friend who I've known since before I was 1 asked me to play at her daughters wedding and I cant find any music for said instruments above It's during the ceremony so maybe some hymnal church music, but not the usual Wedding March song. If anyone has ideas please let me know. Preferably for Viola, but if you have trouble stick with violin . Thanks

DJ or iPod for wedding music?
My fiance and I are getting married in May 2012. We are planning to use an iPod for our music instead of hiring a dj or a live band because the community hall we are having the ceremony and recepiton in has a good sound system. We are also planning to ask for song requests in the invitations so we can put them in the play list when people RSVP. I am getting kind of worried though that the iPod might seem too impersonal or that it might not work. Has anyone tried using an iPod at their wedding and did it work out?
What can I do about epic wedding music?
I'm planning my wedding, and my fiance and I have different tastes in music. I wanted to do songs like Canon in D, Butterfly Kisses, and A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes. In an effort to compromise, he found a version of Canon in D by an epic electric guitarist Johann Pachelbel for our wedding party to walk to. Now, I need some more music to support the epicness of that song. We are pretty sure we want Jonathan Cane's Bridal March for me to walk down the aisle to, but I need some good suggestions for the rest.
Cost of live wedding music in Edmonton, AB?
We are getting married in July at the Derrik club. My soon to be mother in law is pressuring my fiance to have live music of some sort. Either a string quartet or a singer to sing some old terrible songs . My soon to be wife and I feel at times like she is trying to make this wedding all about her instead of about us it is our wedding after all, she already had one . We are looking for prices for Singers and Quartets in Edmonton to cover the ceremony and cocktail hour so that we can tell my mother in law that we don't want to pay $XXX.xx for something WE DON'T EVEN WANT. Of course, if it is reasonable then we may end up getting it anyways, but I already have been forced into having fruit cake as our wedding cake so I am not keen on giving in to this and the plethora of other demands.Does anyone know an average ballpark price for a singer to cover a ceremony & cocktail hour and or a string quartet for the coming wedding season?Thank you.I have emailed several performers but it will take time to get the prices back. As this is a more browsed website with a large user base I thought I could get a quicker albeit less accurate answer from this website. I am not looking for a large degree of accuracy, just a rough estimate from others who have already looked into this. We are meeting with my fiance's mom soon and wanted some numbers to be able to answer questions with.

my wedding is in 2 months and i have everything done but the music, i need some inspiration please i need a song to play before i walk down the isle i think its called seating music, i need a song to play while i walk down the isle i dont want sappy commercial or typical. i need music for our first dance and music for throughout the day.the theme of our wedding is kind of whimsical and fun but classy and artsy. because of the beautiful weather our wedding will be outdoors, the colors are purples, browns, grays, a pop of orange and greens i know that sounds funny but its going together well. we will have those mustache props and a candy bar, mason jars and old style records as decorations well just some of the decorations. some of the music i really love is the civil wars, a day to remember if it means a lot to you, flightless bird by iron and wine, death cab for cutie fallow you into the dark, travis sing, just to name a few.im looking for beautiful classic, romantic music, love songs and more like the ones i listed. thank you guys for all help
