My parents are divorced and remarried. Although I get along with my step- parents, my mom and dad are my only mom and dad. I am very loyal to them. How do I address the wedding invitations? I want to add my parents, as they have done so much for me throughout my life. |

In situations like this, it's the mother of the bride and her current husband who issue the invitation: Mr. and Mrs. John Newcomb request the honour of your presence at the marriage of her daughter Linda Jean Porter etc. (all centered) |

You could just skip putting the parents on the invites. so you are invited to the marriage of mary granger and graham smith or dont include names the family of mary granger and graham smith invite you to join them if they are paying for the wedding then that is different but it might be easier to just not put names on the invitations and then aknowlegdge them in your order of service if you are having one eg at the end: graham would like to extend particular thanks to his parents caroline and james who have put so much towards making today special |

For sure, you can include everyone's names Marie Eileen, daughter of Frank (Susan) Smith and Helen (Gregory) Brown, and Mark William, son of George and Lisa Green, request the honour of your presence.... (You insert the first name of the step parent in parentheses) |

Traditionally, you include the name of step-parents, but it is really not required. You could say: "John A. Smith and Mary L. Jones joyfully invite you to attend the marriage of.... " Or if you want to be traditionally even though you aren't close: "Mr. and Mrs. John A. Smith and Mr. Joe T. and Mrs. Mary L. Jones invite you to attend the marriage of... " |
