Trying to decide for wedding flowers, help? :)?
I'm going with silk flowers. I'm not having a monster huge wedding, just a small chapel wedding. I don't want to spend an outrageous amount on flowers, but I want them to look decent. Has anyone used silk flowers from the Dollar Tree or Dollar General and it turned out great? or does anyone have any suggestions of inexpensive places to go for nice silk flowers?

Flying with wedding flowers ?
I have to fly up to Syracuse NY from Arizona for a wedding this October. I am designing the floral arrangements for it 2 bouquets, 3 corsages, 5 boutonnieres and 2 kissing balls with primarily roses being used . So my question is does anyone know a way that I can take them on the plane or under the plane with me preassembled? I really don't want to use a random florist in NY and I'll be pretty pressed for time once I get there. I can't ship them because it's a destination wedding so no residence to send them to up there. If anyone can think of a way to do it, how to package them etc please let me know Thanks
What is average cost for wedding flowers?

What are good wedding flowers?
I need your help with two things a Which flowers should I have in my hair?b What should my bouquet be like? For my hair I was hoping for something white that smells lovely and can be ordered in by a flower shop. Not orchids, since I had those in my hair for prom. For my bouquet, I was thinking of something trailing that compliments our wedding colours of pear green, cornflower blue, and ivory. Smell is very important to me as well. I'd like suggestions on the types of flowers, how to have the stems wrapped, and even pictures would be great
How much should I charge for wedding flowers, center pieces and bouquets?
I'm doing the flowers for a wedding in September. 18 centerpiece arrangements some tall some short. 6 bouquets, 8 boutonnieres, 3 corsages and rose petals for the isle. I want to be fair and reasonable however, I want to make sure I compensate for my time. What is the average cost for wedding flowers for reception area and bridal party. I've only done one wedding so far and it was bridal party only. This is a bigger job and I'm new at doing this so, want to make sure I charge fairly based on the competition in the Orange County area. This is not a personal friend just a client that contacted me. I usually buy all materials upfront with a deposit from client most of the time then charge the balance at the end.
Honey Suckle as wedding flowers?
I would like to use them in some of the arrangements because of their fragrance and the fact they grow so abundant in our area. Making them cheap, easy to find, or free if I decide to do an all wildflower look. But I'm worried that such a delicate flower might wilt before the reception is even over. Which would obviously look unattractive and generally be disappointing. So I'm asking if anyone knows a way to help them stay fresh and happy on the vine for at least three hours. On top of that, general suggestions for pretty and simple arrangements and decor would be great. We're trying not to make it overly expensive, since we aren't flowing with money.
Wedding flowers for free from florist due to extreme aggravation?
Hello,I need some thoughts, advice, suggestions please Here it goes... So, I'm getting married in about a month, and I thought I had my flower arrangements pretty much set until my design session yesterday. We were wrapping up the session until I noticed a price discrepancy of $50 in the contract, yes, it's not a huge amount but I mentioned it. The lady who was helping us mentioned it to the owner and he became very irate and mentioned that if I signed the paperwork for the wrong amount then I have to pay the " wrong" amount??? Crazy, I know. The nice lady who was helping us asked him to please fix it for us, and so he did after she mentioned it but he already treated me so rudely. So, being all stressed out because my wedding is in a month, when she came back I began to cry and told her how rude he was and I didn't deserved that. She apologized but kept saying he didn't mean it. My maid of honor who was also at the design session was there and mentioned that he was a jerk and he treated me badly. Few moment later a guy comes into the flower shop and says " who owns the honda parked in the back?" , my MOH states she does and he follows to say that someone keyed the car. Ok, to make the long story short, the owner of the shop, who made me cry for treating me so badly was the one who keyed her car When the owner came outside, the witness pointed him out and said that it was him to he saw key her car, crazy My friend called the cops ASAP, and they came and we all saw the keyed scartches on the car.The owner ultimately got arrested and the nice lady who helped us she gave me all my money back but still defended him that he did not do it because she believes her boss. Horror story, i know... To finish it off, she tells me at the end that they want to compensate me for the aggravation by paying for all the flowers in my wedding and whatever I wanted, and even double the flowers, for free..My friend who's car is keyed will be compensated for the damage and the owner who KEYED the car is saying he still didn't do it bs but will compensate because it happened in his property..Now, my question to you all is if I should go with it and accept the flowers being done for free as promised, or just dont deal with them?? Only reason why i'm thinking of going with them is bc it will be done for free and my future hubby and I can save money, and also bc i know they get a lot of business from my venue so they do not want to look bad because they know i will tell.Thoughts????
Wedding Flowers - Help?
I am totally clueless about flowers. What kind of budget should I plan for, and how far in advance do I need to reserve a florist's services for our wedding day? Some details Luckily our venue's package includes flower centerpieces. So I still need to hire a florist to do my bouquet, my maid of honor's bouquet, petals for the flower girl, and maybe bouquets for my mom and my fiance's mom? I'm not sure about that. The wedding party is small, just one maid of honor, no additional bridesmaids I have very simple taste. I am planning to have the bouquets consist of 100 % bronze orange colored zinnias, or have the zinnias mixed with other simple flowers. This will match our fall colors theme. Our wedding is in October and I heard that zinnias are in season at that time, so hopefully not expensive.I currently live abroad and I won't be able to meet florists in person until August but I am putting together the budget now. So any insight into the budget or other tips would be really useful. Thanks
Seasonal Wedding Flowers, What Is Appropriate?
Ever since I've started planning my wedding a few months ago I always dreamed of having red roses for my flowers. When me and my fiancee came up with a date that would fit our busy schedules may 25th, 2013 , I got to thinking on the flower situation. When I think of red roses, I think about late summer early fall. Would it be totally off season to have my flowers be red roses if I get married in May?
