There seem to be a lot of American sites for people selling off jars, fairy lights, vases etc from their wedding after the big day. Where can I find a similar site in the UK? Forums etc are all okay. How much did you spend on wedding decorations/centerpieces?
My friend just got engaged and is bombarding me with a million wedding questions since I'm the only one of her friends that is married. My husband and I got married at the courthouse with 5 guests and went out to dinner afterwards. We never had a traditional wedding because we chose to save our money for a downpayment on a house. I don't know much about the planning and cost of a traditional one. Some of her ideas sound pretty reasonable, but she was thinking of budgeting around $5000 for decorations and centerpieces? I think that's an exobanant amount to spend on things that will end up in the trash or a thrift store the day after the wedding. Then again, I don't really know.How much did you spend on decorations and centerpieces? Is she dreaming a little high?She's also including other decorative items in the $5000 number in her head. A fancy cake stand, cake knife and server, their toasting flutes, things hanging from the celing streamers or whatever you hang on the celing at a wedding? , flowers ect...The church event room they want to hold the reception in only provides place settings, table cloths and other stuff for serving the food and beverages big serving platters, giant coffee pots and big chafing dishes type things no one would ever own . All the church decorations and everything else is up to her and her fianc .

The hall we're getting married in doesn't allow ANYTHING to hang from the walls or ceilings Besides freestanding draping equipment so expensive does anyone have ideas to cover up windows and create a softer atmosphere?

My best friend is marrying her boyfriend of three years. She really wants the theme to be about how they kept missing each other but found each other...like fate kept trying to introduce them. For instance they both moved to the same town within a month of one another when they were young. They lived within five miles of each other. They both moved to another town at the same time and again lived within 5 miles of each other. They went to the same schools but he was a grade ahead of her they even had some of the same friends in high school and sat one table away from each other at lunch throughout highschool. They both went to the same college. He frequented a restaurant she worked at. They feel like it was fate trying to get them together all along and they just missed the signals. So how can I help her find a way to tie that in as a theme to their wedding?
