Grandma is paying for the wedding but refuses to pay for the location because she thinks that i should get married in the church i went to with her from the time that i was born, till i turned 16... i dont want to do that for personal reasons that would take too long to tell. and im not up for using any other church. so no churches, also there is only one wedding chapel in my area and its over my budget. i need creative and cheap ideas...! |

County courthouse works. it is cheap, you can get married at your convenience, and all you need is a license. they will even supply the witnesses if you don't have ones with you. and no matter your reasons, i agree with you about the church thing. |

Your local beach! Go in the morning= less people, pretty sunrise, cool weather! If you want, put up a little white fence. There shouldn't be many people there but hey, if you get nervous, just look over at that guy in his speedo! He'll give you a good laugh! Or, a flowery meadow, a big field+ lots of decorations. There are many things you can get form party city etc. that look expensive but actualy aren't! it's not the stuff, but the people at the wedding that counts! Check out parks, community gardens, museums, wineries, etc. I have been to weddings at an automotive museum, on a harbor cruise, at a private horse ranch,in a library. I even went to one held in a chapel at a cemetery. Sounds odd, but the chapel was gorgeous. Think outside the box. Places that are special to you and your fiance. I once heard of a couple that got married at the department store where they met while working there. |

Where do you live? Post an ad on Craigslist for that area and ask people for ideas. I did that to find some place different to have my reception. I found an idenpendent bookstore, chinese restuarant, two small local bars, a local restaurant with a banquet room, a greenhouse, and a bowling alley that were willing to rent out their place for the evening. My ceremony was in my church, but each of these places were also willing to host the ceremony as well as the reception. |

Honestly, if you or a close friend or a family member have a big back yard, you can make it really beautiful. You just have to look. And if you don't have a big back yard. You can go to a park. Under a pavilion. And for a wonderful, fun wedding cake, just ask a friend or two to help you make one. It is fun and is cheap(: |

You'll still need a J.P. to perform the ceremony...and you can do that anywhere. Are you having a reception? You can marry there. |

In a park, near a lake, at sunset, with the people facing the sun, as it sets in the background. |

Most Parks are free or low cost. Find out from your recreation department. |

Get married at a park, museum, or art gallery. You can get a friend or family member to perform the marriage if they go online and get ordained for free. |

Is there a beautiful park or lake nearby you could decorate with chairs and flowers? Luckily, in America, the possibilities for wedding venues really are endless! Some even marry underwater, in a cave or on the top of a mountain! We have plenty of wedding venue tips and inspiration here: wedding-venue-secret.com/ Hope this helps! Jennie x |
