How to decorate an outdoor basketball court for a wedding ceremony on the cheap?
im getting married in may and the question pretty much says it all. how do i decorate and totally transform a run down outdoor basketball court into a simple yet elegant garden party type wedding ceremony? the reception is already taken care of and will not be in the same location so ceremony only will be on the court thanks heather if its " ghetto as " then why did you waste your time answering?
Can the Prayer of Saint Francis be used as a first reading in a Catholic wedding ceremony?
I understand traditionally the first reading is an old testament reading followed by a new testament reading and a gospel. However, knowing wedding ceremonies do have a little wiggle room I was wondering if I could use the above prayer in place of an old testament reading as it is one of my favorite prayers. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks As my fiance and I have a very diverse group of family and friends we opted for a Catholic ceremony instead of a Catholic mass which gives us less opportunity to incorporate the prayer as music. We thought this might make the Muslim and Jewish guests at our wedding feel a little more comfortable and welcome at the wedding.
Is it ok to have a wedding ceremony with out a reception?
My fiance and I really wanted to elope. Simple, stress free and intimate...sounds lovely. The only problem is we are getting very mixed reviews on our plans. Many family members and friends are terribly sad that they wouldn't be able to see us get married and share in our special day. I completely understand and would love to have them be there, but there are some huge issues with getting all our friends and family members together. On both sides of our family's there is so much drama. Many are in fights or not speaking to each other. As for our friends many have dated in the past as well as fought in the past and it could be awkward to get them together. To make a long story short I am loosing sleep at the idea of these people spending hours together in one room. I keep stressing that a fight will erupt and ruin our day that we planned for months and have spent thousands on none of our family can afford to help us financially with the wedding . I had this idea that maybe if we can't elope why not just keep the wedding short and sweet. Have a nice, simple, small ceremony and no reception. We would keep it local so most wouldn't have to travel and others wouldn't have to travel too far two hours at most . We would send out save the dates that would also tell our guests that gifts are not necessary and it will also clearly state that it will be a ceremony only affair. This way they can decide if they would like to take time out of their day to join us or not. I was also thinking of giving a mini bottle of wine as favors to say thank you for sharing in our special day. Last but not least I would write everyone a sweet thank you card and express how much it meant to us that they came. Please tell me your thoughts. Is this too rude or is it understandable? Thanks Thank you all for your constructive criticism and or positive feedback As for " Blunt" there is really no need to be so offended. I don't want any guests to " stop by the church and drop off a gift" . I don't want or expect gifts at all. Anyway for those who are helping would it be more acceptable to offer guests a glass of champagne or sparkling cider as they enter the ceremony site as well as give edible favors like cookies or cupcake? I would like to add we are not against having a cocktail and appetizer reception after, I was just trying to consider all options. Thanks again
In Thailand, is there a (Catholic) church fee for conducting a wedding ceremony?
If there is, how much? I am planning a wedding in Bangkok, Thailand, but we have no idea if there's a customary church fee or we just need to voluntarily " offer" to the church.
Who can perform an outdoor wedding ceremony?
Catholic wedding ceremony at Disney World?
Within the next ten years, I plan on getting married at Disney World. However, they do not allow Cahtolic leaders do not recognize the marriage only if you get married in your parish cathedral. Well as bad as this may sound to some people, I am not giving up my childhood dream of being married and making it a significant moment just because I don't want to be married inside of a church to me what difference does it make . My plan is to either go through a mini ceremony before my fiancee and I depart to Orlando for the ACTUAL ceremony so that it has already been recognized by the church or to just wait until after our honeymoon and go to our church and have it recognized. What do you think about my plan??? Pretty thorough i must admit

How to decorate for a wedding ceremony?
I am getting married in April and sunset will be around 7 30 p.m.. The wedding ceremony will start at 7 p.m. and weather permitting it will take outside on a balcony that over looks some hills and trees. I need decoration lighting ideas. I was thinking a lighted wedding arch and then stringing lights on the balcony rail. Good idea bad idea? Do you have any ideas?Oh and it needs to be relatively inexpensive.

Wedding ceremony and reception in the same room?
We're having a lot of people traveling out of town, and we're trying to save money so we're considering having a wedding in a hotel with the reception and ceremony in the same place. But how will I set it up? I'm not a fan of cocktail hour, so how could we move everything around? what if the staff does it wrong?I mean, I'd set it up with tables with an aisle in the middle, but we're not going to have just a plain dance floor, we're going to have a photobooth and a buffet table, etc.'How could we do this without it being tacky and not having room?
Can I have two wedding ceremonies ?
I would like to know if I can have two wedding ceremonies my boyfriend is Muslim and I am Catholic my family wants a wedding at our church but my boyfriends family doesn't want his entire family in the church. My boyfriend and I wanted a beach wedding but Priests don't usually perform outside the church so I was thinking to exchange vows at the church just a private ceremony with some of my boyfriend and I close family. Than do a beach ceremony a year later with everybody else so we can make my family, his family and everybody happy. I'm happy and he is happy as long as we are together so it does not matter to us. What do you think and if you have any suggestions please feel free to write thank you God bless Sorry hehe someone told me when I go to the church to just have the vows done and than when I have my beach wedding that should be when I have the actual wedding license. Is this even possible ?Yeah that is very true Courtney thank you for your input
