I'm a soon to be bride and I have 4 bridesmaids. Generally, and all the weddings I've been a bridesmaid in, I've had to pay for my own bridesmaid dress. My maid of honor just yesterday told me that I should save up more money to buy all their dresses..it sounded a little rude how she said it but I'm not sure if it's my responsibility? I don't wanna spend around $400 500 on dresses that they're only gonna wear one day.. But am I suppose to pay for them? John...I don't even know what to think of your reply. Those are some uneccesary accusations you're makingI have been looking for budget friendly dresses everywhere. It is mainly my maid of honor that wants to buy designer gowns that are almost $200 haha. To clarify, I'm all for the idea of saving money on the bridesmaids dresses as well as having them all love their dresses. Hello I am planning my wedding and have a vision of exactly what I want..It will be an outdoor ceremony, basically in a garden..lush with flowers and greenery. The reception will be in a barn with two huge crystal chandeliers and sheer drapings from the rafters. I am going for a very vintage, laid back, romantic feel. Bridesmaid dress alterations (if you have alterations experience, please answer!) or experience having dresses?
I am in a wedding in June. We were fitted for these dresses a while ago though, at least before Winter started, b c I remember it was a nice day. So maybe mid late Fall. Anyway, they took forever to come in, and JUST came in this weekend. So I was measured fitted at least 4 5 months ago. I ve lost about 14lbs since then, and I m fairly short so it makes a difference. So I got the dress and tried it on. I d say that in the hips it fits correctly, the waist is maybe 1 in too big but the bust is way too big. I don t know anything about constructing deconstructing clothes but I do know that this dress is satin sateen. And to me, the top part bodice? is very structured like it s really stiff. So I m a little worried about getting it taken in. There s no beading or embroidery on it though. Here s a picture of a similar dress I don t remember the designer of the dress, and I don t have it right now to check dessy.com dresses lelarose LR168 ?color black& colorid 123Ours has a broach or cluster of beading on the left at the waist though, that s really the only difference.I m trying to decide if I should cool it on the weight loss if this dress is going to be difficult to take in. I ve heard the saying, there s no limit to how much a dress can be taken in but I m not sure I really believe that. Any help suggestion advice would be helpful, thanks

Why do some brides have their bridesmaid dressed all tacky just because it's suppose to be "their day"?
If I were having a wedding ceromonie I would want my girls dressed in white and looking just as beautiful and fabulous as I am. Who cares if it's my big day. As far as I'm concerned you can meet your future mate anywhere....even at your friend's wedding so why not look just as beautiful as the bride?If I'm looking beautiful I want my girls to look just as beautiful so that maybe other marriage prospects will look at them as well. Who cares if it's my day. It's their day as well and if they're looking just as beautiful as I am then more than likely someone there is going to take interest in them. It's their day too, not just mine.

Bridesmaid dress colour?
I am getting married in December and I really want to do silver charcoal bridesmaid dresses I have found a really awesome bridesmaid dress, long with ruching, but it only comes in a light silver with the next darkest colour black. I don't want to do the black. I want to do some bold coloured flowers. Here is the question s . 1 I have 1 light blonde bridesmaid and 1 darker blonde bridesmaid. Will the light silver wash them out?2 Will a dark bold purple flowers look good with silver?Also....will the silver make the bridesmaid look big instead of slim?
Is it weird if grooms suit matches the bridesmaids dresses?
FH has his eye on a navy suit, the groomsmen are set to wear black and he wants to stand out, however the bridesmaids are wearing navy dresses, would this look odd? especially in photos? He has a fallback grey suit choice, but really prefers the navy but the girls already have their dresses.
