Do the brides and grooms parents require a gift?
first off, is it necessary to get the parents of the bride and groom gifts? not saying that i wont but i have never seen it done at the wedding rehersals i have attended. is the purpose as a thank you for raising me and now im spreading my wings or is it a thank you for helping with the wedding?should the gift be to the set of parents both sets are still married or should there be an individual gift for each?what types of gifts should be given? something " weddingy" or something that thay will enjoy?

Bride/other bridesmaids are hardly planning?
First thing I must say is I'm a very planned person. I live by my calender I work full time, I'm a part time student & I'm 6 months pregnant. My best friend is getting married in September, she has nothing planned She called me yesterday to see if I knew anyone who could DJ & asked I had a friend of mine's number to ask if she could make the cake. To me this is stuff that should have been done a year ago have been asking the other maid of honor 2 of us What is a good time to get together with the bride & her mom to start planning things for the the shower & bachelorette party. But no 1 seems to worry about it. I work weekends plus have my own baby shower this summer. So I'm working hard to make sure nothing over laps. What is the best way to handle this? I don't want my best friend to have nothing. But I can't force some one to get it together
Thanking the bride who chose you as a bridesmaid?
Question for brides. Did your parents help pay for your wedding?
Just wondering if it's still traditional for the parent's of the bride to pay, or help pay for the wedding. My mum wants to take care of most of mine, but I feel bad, coz it's a lot of money, of course I don't expect a free wedding, of course I am going to contribute to it. And does the grooms side still pay for the bar tab? How much was your wedding? There will probably be around 80 100 guests at mine, it will be in a church, with a 5 hr reception after. I found a nice country golf club for the reception that is 129 per head, and it includes wedding planner, tables decorated etc, 3 course al la carte meal, room hire, basic bar tab beer wine and soft drink and a dj, and canap s before the reception begins. What's the average to spend on buying a dress, suit hire and flowers etc?

I'm a bridesmaid and the Bride and Groom could care less about the wedding!?
I was asked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding that I have to purchase a plane ticket for and buy a $150 dress. The wedding is June 16 and the Bride and Groom haven't done anything. The groom told his mom to cook hot dogs for the wedding party and the Bride said that there will be no reception. The groom doesn't have a tux neither does the groomsmen and there are no rings. They have literally done nothing except set a date and pencil in the date on the church calendar. I am good friends with the Brides Aunt so she is trying to plan this wedding and get everything straight and all the bride keeps saying is I don't want to talk about it, its stressing me out I am seriously thinking about backing out because why should I spend over $400 on a wedding that the bride and groom could obviously care less about? What would you do at this point? How should I handle this situation? Jilly, it is not a matter of the food its the effort she is putting into wedding. She didn't even buy the invitations 2 months ago her aunt and I had a talk with her about planning and she cried saying we were stressing her out. Then when she picked out the bridesmaid and maid of honor dresses for us she says oh I guess I need a dress too huh? So she finds a dress on craigslist buys it and now she doesn't care about decorations, music, none of the groomsmen have a tux or has been fitted for one she said they can go in and rent a tux 3 days before since that is what her fiance did last year at a wedding. And if they don't get a tux then they are not in the wedding. She said she's inviting 175 people and not feeding them most people have to travel from out of town to come to her wedding. She hasn't sent out the invitations that her aunt purchased 3 weeks ago. She doesn't think she needs a wedding rehearsal, the cake hasn't been ordered, no decorations, nothi
Is it OK to ask the brides mates to buy there own dress?
so i have 12 brides mates and i don't want one individual dress style due to the fact that they wont all be comfortable with one style different body types . so is it OK to ask them to buy their own dress in their own style but in navy?
What do you think about an Edible Arrangement for the bride's bouquet?
Like I said in my previous question I'm helping a buddy of mine with his wedding. His bride to be told him that he wasn't involved enough. I just thought about the bouquet and how it would be really awesome if you could eat it. So what about those edible arrangements where they make flowers out of fruit and candy?Lol it would be funny when she throws it and sticky fruit and candy goes all over the place.

Young wannabe bride needs advice?
hi, i'm 20 years old and there is a fair coming to my town this summer. everyday i think of how fun it will be to find the guy i will marry there. i am ready for marriage no later than the 4th of july. i am very good at reading people so it won't take long to know if the man is right for me, like 2 or 3 days of quality time. i'm so excited about this and have a big fear the guy will back out and get scared. i like older guys like in their 40s and 50s. how can i find the one and keep him? marriage is serious and i need someone who i know won't leave me before the actual wedding. by the way it would be simple at the court house. any advice would help thanks
If you found a little tiny bride and groom on top of a wedding cake, shouting for help?
Would you help them? I know it's odd, I used to work in a bakery and always think about it when I saw the little models on the wedding cakes lol

How much is appropriate to give the bride and groom as the maid of honor?
My cousin's wedding is tonight and I am the maid of honor. I know the per plate cost for the wedding is about $35.. I'm trying to figure out how much money to give the couple. I was going to buy a gift but they had a very small registry and after her shower everything was already taken. I also have already spent about $700 on the dress, hair and make up, shower and bachelorette party. Oh and my wedding is in 3 weeks so I can't go crazy haha
