Question: How can i make elopement and honeymoon special? we've lived together for 2 years.?

He just wants a quick ceremony, I don't want anything elaborate, but would like our kids there and would like it to be more than a "drive through " wedding. I don't need flowers, tuxes, or a cake, but I do want to remember it with fondness in ten years instead of regretting the way we did it.

Why not a wedding at a special place, where you meet, where you went on the first date and so on. I have done them on airplane rides, ballon rides, on boats, almost did one at walmart but the plans changed. so pick something special or something fun.

How about a cruise with your kids and get married at one of the islands? I did photography for a wedding in someones house where she did wear a modest dress, tuxes and flowers but it was just them and their parents. It was a great intimate wedding. Or get married at a state park at a gazebo somewhere and then all go out for dinner afterwards to celebrate. Las Vegas is supposed to be a lot of fun too - but I say that woudl depend on the age of your children. Take a cruise!!

For me, the most important material thing in my wedding was the dress. Find the thing that is really important to you. What did you dream about as a little girl? Find a way to integrate the kids. You can have something quick that's not necessarily an elopement. If you really want to focus on the kids and you want to go away to get married, you might consider a Disney Cruise. You get married on the ship, the kids can be there, you can have alone time with your new hubby, and everybody has fun.
