Why not make a trip to to coast of California? It's no Hawaii, but it's around your budget. I live in San Diego so anywhere along the coast is a great place to vacation: San Diego, Santa Monica, San Francisco... Pretty much anywhere near a beach has great attractions. Since it's Winter, flights will be WAY cheaper, especially if you book now. Or you can book a flight to Dana Point and take a boat ride to Catalina Island (boat ride is only $50/ person round-trip) and vacation there. You can snorkel, cruise around the island on carts, play by the beach... It's your honeymoon, live a little. = D |

Check out Utah's website for recreation spots. |

Sorry, dont live anywhere near you so I have no ideas. what you should do is google it. google vacation or honeymoon spots in your state or area, there should be something online. otherwise you could ask a local travel agent for suggestions, or ask other married couples in your area for ideas. be prepared to compromise a little if you have to like with the amount of driving or the amount of adventure. |

Whatever location you pick, you should use priceline.com for your hotel (and if you decide to fly, for your flight too). They're pretty awesome |

I don't live in UT but I think I can help... My husband and I didn't have a lot of money but we wanted something secluded. I went only and found a cabin for rent and a good price. Thats what we did. We rented a cabin in the middle of the woods on a lake for an entire week. It was great. We took some video games, bored games and a lap top with us. The cabin had a grill which we used to grill up ribs, burgers, anything we wanted. It snowed while we were there and it was so pretty. I loved it. We did also take a canoe out on the lake. This was all in TN though... we live in SC and we did drive. And it did snow a lot while we were on the road, but it wasn't that bad. So, I suggest do what we did and find a cabin somewhere in the woods ^-^ I loved it and don't regret not going to some tropical beach paradise... mostly because I HATE the beach... XD |

I just looked up Vernal, UT, and it looks to be pretty far from any kind of larger city. It seems like you're pretty evenly situated between Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT more or less. If you don't want to go that far because of winter diving, etc, I also noticed you're not far from the Ashley National Forest. If you google Ashley National Forest, they do have a pretty nice website and it seems like there is a lot of interesting things available there like snowmobiling and such. I think that would take care of the adventure part, and as for romance, I doubt there's much more romantic than snuggling by a fire in a cabin in the woods with your new husband. Cabin rentals at national parks are really pretty reasonable. I think I'd look into that if I were in your shoes! Something else you might want to do is to get a Utah travel guide and look at that. You would probably be amazed at the interesting things to do just a short drive from your own front door! And, there will probably be bed and breakfasts you could look into in there. Enjoy! |

Dear one, The chances of you finding adventure, romance, soemthing special, private, close to home, etc. etc. on a cheap budget are pretty slim no matter where you live. However, try the Sundance film festival in Park City. OK so it's in January (which means you go on the honeymoon before the wedding - but who's to say...) But the tickets are something like $10 - $20 per show and there are movie stars galore all over the place to oggle at. Park City is close to Ogden. Or, as others have suggested, look up the Utah tourism website and see what you can find there. |
