Honeymoon ideas for october...?

Question: Honeymoon ideas for october...?

(Posted by: Ashley on 2012-01-05 15:24:49)

My fiance and I had wanted to go to the Caribbean for our honeymoon next October, however, we didn't realize that October is hurricane season for the Caribbean... Has anyone traveled to the Caribbean in the fall recently? Or does anyone have any suggestions for destinations in October?

Take a cruise. The great thing about cruise ships is that they move and can adjust itinerary if need be. If there's a hurricane approaching a scheduled stop in Antigua, they'll just go to Martinique instead. Either way, you get your Caribbean honeymoon. Good luck!

Iguazu Falls! Brazil is a big city and it really isn't that expensive it so beautiful and you can go shop at Paraguay that really inexpensive my cousin went which a boat and they saw expensive cameras for just 400usd$ and you can buy beautiful things in Misiones and its all forest and their are lovely people and the best thing is that they are all so close by you only have to take a bus for about hours to go to Misiones to Brazil

Officially Hurricane Season in the Atlantic is about 1/ 2 of a year, so figure your odds. It's from June through November. However September and October do tend to have more tropical storms. Bad weather can come anywhere (in IL you have to look out for tornados and straight line winds). But if you are looking for a Caribbean vacation with less chance of a storm interrupting it - try Aruba. It's far enough south it's almost out of the Hurricane Belt.

I've traveled to the Caribbean in the fall every year for the past 7 years and only was affected once by a hurricane. It wasn't a big deal though because the resort just moved me to another one of their resorts on an island that wasn't affected by the storm and they gave me an upgrade to a better room and paid for the changes with my flights so I guess we got the better end of the deal. :) Depending on when you are going, I just booked a trip for September to Sandals Grand Riviera in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It came out to $2,334.50 total for a room for 7 nights in the Honeymoon Bougainvillea Hideaway Concierge Poolside One Bedroom Suite. Beautiful room, steps from a semi-private pool (you share a fenced in courtyard and pool only with whomever else is booked in that same category so maybe 4 or 5 more couples IF those rooms are booked). Sandals is offering 2 free nights in that room category, plus 65% off, plus a $350 instant credit, and a FREE couple's massage (for 2 people). So we grabbed the deal quick! For the price that can't be beat, especially since it's only $167 per person per day and that includes the room, all meals/ snacks, drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic), entertainment, water sports (snorkeling, scuba diving, etc), land sports, transfers between hotel and airport, AND gratuities all included. Our friends booked the villa with a personal butler that is only $2,997.40 total for the room for 7 nights too. It's the Honeymoon Palm Breeze Estate Poolside One Bedroom Butler Villa. That was a STEAL considering at most Sandals resorts a suite with butler service costs at least 5K for a week! That one comes with the complimentary couples massage as well. Awesome deals for the fall! You should definitely check them out! I'll put the links below so you can see what the resort and rooms look like.
