I hate family vacations , help?
Im probably going to sound like a total prick but i absolutely hate going away with my family. Every two months or whatever my family decides that its a nice idea to go away for a weekend, usually to a different country. I get business class tickets and all but for some god forsaken reason my parents rarely get me my own hotel room. So its like, forget about sleeping in my undies and skyping my boyfriend to sleep . My little brother and dad will snore their bums off, the room will have a weird smell , every now and then i even have to share a bed with my brother, most hotels charge a fortune for an hour internet card ,oh and they threaten to take my phone if im on it a lot. i just hate it. I would rather stay at home for a whole weekend doing nothing than give up every little speck of my privacy and have to dedicate my time to watching over my 10 year old brother. This weekend they're going to Bali , i dont want to go. I spoke to my dad, i told him its the first week back at school and my last year of high school is very crucial but i ended up raising my voice and all i got from him was a " you're spoilt and ungrateful " . I do not want to go. I would rather eat raw chicken and have food poisoning. What do i do?

I hate family vacations.....how do I deal with 4 days of this?
Our family tries to go on one vacation a year. I know I sound like jerk, but I totally hate family vacations. I am 18 now and can't wait until I stop going on them. But it seems my parents always want to go on one I think they feel we really want to go on vacations . My sister one year older and my brother couple years younger don't hate them, they probably like them.I guess the reason I hate them is this if you ve ever slept in the same hotel room as my family, you will wake up with a max of 3 hours sleep per night spending that much time with my family with no alone time is killer boredomI can deal with boredom.....I'm a good sport on vacations. I don't snap or fight or anything. IT's not like I am being a jerk to everyone on the vacation.But I just can't deal with the lack of sleep I get I've tried earplugs......don't work well and the fact that I have no alone time. I'm always with my family and I cannot stand that. I just have an OK relationship with my family too.How do I deal with this? I know I sound like I jerk but it's truly how I feel so don't hate on me for it.

My boyfriend is jealous of my family vacation?
It s a tradition for my family to take family vacations every two years and this year we are going to the Bahamas. My serious boyfriend of four months is tremendously jealous because Bahamas was a destination he wanted to take me too, he also wanted to take a vacation with me this year, but I can t afford both a family trip and a boyfriend trip. It s too early to invite him to our family trips, and my parents would like it to be just them and the kids. I told my parents I would go with them and that really hurt my boyfriend who feels he comes second. To make matters worse, he wants to propose to me before the trip which I think is too soon but when I told him to wait that also deeply hurt him. I m worried the family trip, which I am now not so excited about, is going to ruin the summer for everyone. I love him with all my heart and he is an amazing guy, this is just a bump in the road and I m trying to make everyone happy. Advice?
How do I get out of a family vacation?
So I have a fairly large predicament. Since like last May 2011 , I have talked about wanting to go to Italy and how I planned on going summer 2012 as a celebration vacation for my graduation from graduate school. My girlfriend is planning on going with me.This past October, her sister in law approached the family wanting us all to go to Ireland this summer as a celebration of her husband's 30th birthday. She hasn't told him anything about it because she wants it to be a surprise. Her parents really want to go to Italy as well. We've all tried to convince the sister in law about going to Italy, but she seems so stuck on Ireland. She has good intentions, but I think she wants this trip to be her idea since it's for her husband.So my predicament is I understand the importance of family vacations, but I feel that with as expensive as this trip is, everyone should do what they want. To me, I see it as my graduation vacation and that we can go on other family vacations another time. To my girlfriend, family vacations take precedence. I know I'm being selfish, but traveling is my passion and I've been waiting for this trip for a very long time.I don't foresee any good outcome from this unless the my gf's sister in law changes her mind about going to Italy. So how do I get out of this vacation without hurting any feelings and looking selfish? What's a good way to tell my girlfriend that regardless, I'm going to Italy?
