Active duty military and spousal support?
I'm active duty and married for 3 years with no kids. I'm wondering what my spousal support obligation will be. My wife hasn't worked the whole marriage but she has a medical assistant certificate. We live in TN.
Wife wont give date or place to appear in court for spousal support, what to do?
I'm asking this question for my friend....I'm looking online but no help. My friend been separated from his wife for 3 yrs, not until the beginning of this yr when he stop paying for his wife rent and giving her money. That's all she's about...$ $ $. Last month she told him he have to go to court for spousal support, when ask for date and place she wont give it to him. What can he do?
My xhusband is changing jobs! He won't tell me where! I currently have his wages garnished for spousal support?
Do i need to go back to court? He's making way more money now and doesn't want me to find him and get more money We were married in 1985 and divorced in 2009 2 kids 21 and 24 Help
Can my husband get away with not paying spousal support if I am disabled?
I was in a car accident and have 5 herniated discs in my neck. He asked me to marry him before the accident. He needed back surgery himself and was happy I was there to help with things in the house as much as I could and I took care of his 3 kids along with my own. We do have a few teenagers that were also able to help out. I had applied for SSI but was not eligible due to the amount of income he makes. He abandoned me 2 weeks ago and left me with the bills and the house we bought in Sept. that is actually in my moms name due to credit issues he had from a bankruptcy. He knows I have no income and I was able to apply for SSI again due to the circumstances, but I have been told it can take several months. There is alot more to the story, but it would be a book.

Im 24 years old and my parents separated when i was an infant, but are still married. My father then had another family and never help us out financially. my mom never put child support on him with the fear that he would have share custody. My sister and I are now my mothers main source of income due to a hernia repair surgery. its getting harder for us as we start having our own family. can my mom file some kind of application where my dad has to give her money and how would go about doing that? ohh yes and i live in california.
Can my husbands ex-wife base her spousal support on my income? We are in Calif. Kids are grown...she does no?
My husbands income is going to be reduced in May when he retires. He will be bringing in far less than his ex wife. Can her attorney include my wages when they go back to court?
Anyone divorced in CA and did not get spousal support or did not have to pay it?
I may have to pay spousal support as I make twice as much as my husband. However, he makes good money and can support himself, his lifestyle will not change when we divorce, and he is actually bringing in more money for himself than during the bulk or our marriage. I have heard that spousal support is actually not awarded often, that it's a myth it happens in every divorce. True?
Can I get my spousal support amount lowered?
I was married for 23 years and during that time my ex wife never worked. So, since I am in California, I am stuck paying $1400.00 per month for the rest of her life or til she gets remarried which will never happen . My situation has now changed and I am partially disabled and only able to work part time and my total monthly income is now about $650.00 per month. At the present time my new wife has been making the alimony payments, but she is getting sick of having to do that. Can I get a court to adjust the amount downward to a more realistic figure? My current wife should not have to make the payments and is not legally required to.
Why does spousal support even exist?
When you get out of a non maritial relationship with someone it's all done. No more shopping, no more gifts nothing and you move on with your lives. So why should a divorce be any different? If your ex spouse found a new spouse, shouldn't it be their job to take care of the needs of your ex and not yours?I can understand child support by why spousal support?
When is it reasonable to claim contempt of court charges for continuous late payment of spousal support?
In July the Judge revised the spousal support amount that my ex husband was ordered to pay me. My ex had not paid support for three months prior. The order stipulated that I was to receive the payment no later than the first of every month and it was to begin August 1st. That payment was sent to me via USPS priority mail arrives 2 3 days after sent with a post date of August 3 and I received it on the 6th of August. September he mailed the payment via regular mail which takes 5 7 days to reach me. The postmark was 11 00pm 8 31 11. It did not reach me until 9 8 11. My only other means of income is SSI. I am disabled with several fractured compress vertebrae in my lower spine and congestive heart failure. I depend upon receiving my income when it is due as I have committed expenses in the form of a hospital bed rental which if not paid by the due date of the 2nd require additional late charges. I have had to pay late charges for the rental of my hospital bed both months. I also use this support money to refill the many prescriptions I need.My SSI pays $850 and his income is about 4 1 2 times mine. Therefore, there should be no reason for late payment. Is it reasonable, if this continues, to file Comtempt of Court charges? If so, at what point should I file them as it will become a constant occurrance and each month, judging by prior history the payment will arrive later and later. I do not want to " jump the gun" and be a nuisance to the Court but I do need to receive the support money on the day it is due.Answers on how many months of late payment should occur before filing Contempt of Court? Is it reasonable to file them now, after two months? As I stated my Income other than the spousal support is $850.00 His is over 4 1 2 times that. I did not say mention the support payment is only $200.00. I also did not mention I am totally disabled with severe medical problems. We lived together in the marriage over 19 years and it was a proven abusive marriage. I would not ask for a really large support amount but I do need what has been ordered by the Court in order to provide the barest necessities of life which in my case include a hospital bed and medications.
Military Retirement and Spousal Support?
I am a retired military member who had divorced 10 years ago. My ex wife receives portions of my retirement. I ubderstand that if she were to perish or re marry her benefits would end. What about co habitation? She has been living with a partner of the opposite sex for 7 years. Does this disqualify her for the portion of the retireent pay she receives?
Spousal Support Questions?
My husband has been unemployed for 3 years, and has unemployment benefits. He just applied to a divorce in August, and is asking for spousal support. Although i make around 4,000, i have my own 15 year old daughter to support. He gets 1,900 from unemployment benefits. I'm afraid that the court will make me give him alimony, but i just lost my home, and i have to provide for me and my daughter. Is their any way that i can stop the spousal support? Oh and he also has a history of gambling in golf, and he still is.
