How can a joint physical custody affect me as the mom?
our 5 year old daughter lives with me. my ex husband on the other hand is 200 miles away. our daughter is a full time student already here. i just want to know why i can't just have the whole physical custody of our daughter since she does live with me and joint on legal custody with my ex husband.
What is the max travel radius for joint physical custody?
I am sharing custody 50 50 with my 2 year old daughter. I heard somewhere that there is an established radius so the child does not have to be shuttled around for hours each month. Her father and I are 340 miles apart and in 2 different states MS and AL . I am suing for modification and the hearing is on the 24th. Does anyone else travel this many miles for visitation twice per month? I think she should see him like 2 weeks in the Summers and one week every other month or so. When she is school age, then it would certainly have to change again.
If i have joint legal custody but not joint physical custody do i have to pay for halve of schooling and cloth?
im gettting ready to sign papers where i have joint legal custody of my son but she has physical custody....... i get him every tues and thurs everyother friday and everyother weekend... i pay 50 a week in child support and i carry the insurance... i wnna know since i have joint legal custody does that mean that i pay for halve of schooling clothes.. etc i know that 50 buks a week isnt gonna support my child. but u have to understand that she might have physical custody but i have him just as much as she does. i pay for everything including clothes and food while he is here. i am a very loving father and want nothing more than my child to be with me. i also pay for all medical coverage on my son. i just dont understand why she gets sole physical custody and support if i have him the same amount as she does and i do the same amount of exspenses as she does...
If me and my wife split is it hard to get joint physical custody?
like is it common or rare and if rare then what has to happen in order for it to be in place. since i am the father what is the most common kind of custody for me, i would think that me and her should be equally fit for caring for my son and daughter because i have absolutely nothing in terms of criminal records and i went to college and have a degree so i am a good person and productive with my life but hear that courts are biased and always favor the mother, so do i have a good chance or will she probably leave me burned, i live in texas if that matters also. i know alot of people will think i am just trying to dodge child support but the truth is , i wont lie , child support doesnt sound pleasant but my main concern is to be able to have my son and daughter with me as much as i can, i truely love both of them and so far i have sacraficed so much for them, so i really dont want them taken almost completely out of my life that would be horrible.Miss tracie you must not be very bright because how hard is it to see that i didnt say haveing a degree made me a better person i said it showed that i achieved a goal that was very challenging that shows i am a productive person. you sound like an arrogant fool anyways that has that ignorant stereotypical view that the mother should always have the last word.
What is the significance of joint physical custody terminology?
My soon to be ex husband and I are fighting over the details of our divorce decree. We have agreed upon a schedule where he keeps our daughter 5 nights every two weeks and I have her the remaining 9 nights. In the divorce decree that my attorney drafted, he stated that I would be the primary physical custodian and my ex would have the 5 overnights parenting time. The ex is being very nit picky and insists upon the decree stating we have joint physical custody, though he is agreeable to the actual schedule. What is the significance of joint physical custody terminology in the decree, if we ultimately agree on the parenting time schedule? Would it change anything in the long run?Note We have agreed to joint legal custody.
Breastfeeding and joint physical custody?
I have been exclusively breastfeeding my now 4 month old daughter since birth. My ex boyfriend wants joint physical custody. He already has seen her every other day for 4 hours and he has had her overnight every weekend this entire month. It has been very hard on me and I m sure its hard on my daughter too, since she is used to being with me 24 7 plus she's breastfeeding. Now he wants to have her Wednesdays through Fridays with alternating weekends. If we went to that schedule, he would have her Wednesday until the following Monday morning. That is just too many days for my daughter to be away from me. She is breastfed. He doesn t understand and keeps saying that I am the one not thinking about her best interests because I do not agree to let him take her for 5 6 days. Am I being unreasonable? His mother is the one who takes care of my daughter most of the time when she is with him anyways. Has anyone else ever been in this situation? If you're going to be a smart don't even bother responding, seriously. I have a breastpump and I pump and freeze milk. He claims that she will not drink it from a bottle and that she will only drink formula. However, breastmilk is all she gets when she is with me.

My husband wants joint physical custody?
He lives in Florida and have joint custody with his ex wife. He wants to apply for joint physical custody because sometimes she is denying him access to his son when he wants to study with him. His son was diagnosed with some type of learning disorder and he just wants to study more with him. Is a lawyer neccesary in such a case when there is sufficient proof that physical custody will be in the best interest of the child? 10 points for best answer.

If my ex and I agree to share Joint Legal Custody and Joint Physical Custody, would I the father still be required to provide child support? This is in California. I presently provide her medical insurance and tuition for private school and am ok with that.
