Anyone familiar with georgia divorce/annulment?
Ok so the other night my husband and i were fighting....again....and we have only been married for four months. I asked him to leave, he has already threatened to do so 4 times in 2 months, so i told him just to go get out and go. but when i said that he said that if i tried to file a divorce that he could get me for alamony and child support. he has a 13 yr old from a previous marriage. he has custody of him but i never adopted him or signed any legal guardian papers on him. so my question is, if i file for a divorce and he will not agree to a no fault divorce and we go to court can i be made to pay child support on a chil,d that is not mine and that i have never adopted and can he get me for alamony. i am self employed and i dont make a whole lot and it really scared me when he started talking like that. i want to save my marriage or at least give it more that 4 months chance but how can i when he is already plotting against me if i do something. i might add that i am treated like a door mat. i have run up every c card i have trying to make him happy by buying him and his son things. what do ya'll think???

State of Georgia Divorce - Different circumstances..?
A friend of mine has had a bit of a hard time. She has 4 children, all of the same father, however things aren't so good. She has been married to the father for 10 11 years first child was born a short time before the marriage and it has been horrible the entire time.During the marriage she has been the sole parent, and he has never put any effort in, at one time she was holding 2 jobs while looking after the children and paying all the bills while the father stayed at home, mostly under the influence of drugs. He has beaten her, yelled at her and the children, and when they were younger he often slapped them round the head. He has raped her numerous times, one time knocking her out to the point of nearly dying, and her mother has even witnessed it.Recently they have separated and she has been trying to get custody of the kids. When they were first married he had promised to her that she would get custody if they ever had issues, however it wasn't in writing, therefore he has decided to go against it. Due to the fact he lives closer to the school they spend the week with him and weekends and holidays with her, however many times he has kept them for the weekend and some holidays without giving her a say in the matter. Many times he has been 'on his way' to collect them on Sunday night for them to go to school the next day and has left it to times such as 12.30, meaning the children either had to stay up or have to be woken up for the hour journey. The scenario is entirely unfair as she is an amazing mother and he is the worst father I have ever known. She has divorce papers however he has refused to sign them, he has told her that he is dealing prescription drugs however she has no proof of this, he has filmed raping her and shown her the video however she has not been able to find it, and sadly all of the things he has done she has no way to prove them. She hasn't got the money for court as he will not give up his rights.Basically, my question is, what options does this woman have? What can she do to stop what she and the children have to go through?Sorry for the jumble this question is, it's just I don't know how else to word it. Thank you for reading through it.

Georgia Divorce: 50-50 custody. Child support.?
Does anyone have any knowledge. on GA divorces? Me and the STBX are going for an uncontested divorce and we have agreed on all the property stuff, and child support. We agreed that i would not pay child support but would handle all his bills like medical insurance , medical and other fanancial needs. As well as any money needs during his days with me. My concern is that i am afraid even if we go through a mediator and she agrees to no child support will the courts over turn this decision?

Georgia Divorce Help?
I have a friend who is a little confused about how exactly to go through a divorce properly the first time. It's uncontested, both parties are perfectly happy with each other, as they got married young and just did it for monetary reasons. They've been living apart for probably 3 years now. The superior court in Newnan, GA wasn't any help whatsoever. She has some papers already filled out and she just wants to hand them in, but doesn't want them to be denied for some stupid mistake. The biggest question is, does it matter what county is on the divorce papers? She moved recently between all this, so the papers have a different county on the top I think. The husband lives in WI. A lawyer or anymore spent money is not an option, so don't bother saying that. It's a very clean and easy divorce so nothing to go wrong there, just confusion about the papers. If you wanted to, I'll be on AIM for a little bit if it needs to be said in a conversation. My Screen Name is JTFHM. Thanks for the help
