How to get my daughters fathers rights taken away?
I was in a very abusive relationship with my ex, a couple of the times my daughter either saw it first hand or ended up being in the middle of it, and I couldn't take it anymore I left him He has a felony, and he uses drugs all the time. Not to mention he lost almost all contact with his son, what do i need to do in order to get his rights taken away. He has never taken me to court, and hasn't contacted me in over 8 weeks i do have a ppo against him and he hasn't had his family do it either, I dont know if I should just call FOC or talk to a lawyer Please help I'm from Michigan too it is really sad, but thankfully I am with an amazing man now that actually has stepped in and has been a better father then her own dad

What are a fathers rights when it comes to visitation. He pays child support.?
My husband has a 5 yr old child from a previous marriage, he pays child support and helps out financially whenever he is asked but the ex wife doesn't allow any visitation unless she or her new husband is present. My hubby has no history of violence, drugs etc.. and is a very loving and proud daddy. I was wondering what his rights were and what can be done out of court?

Is.this enough to get fathers rights taken away?
ok,.so my daughters " sperm donor" was not once there during the whole pregnancy. I tried many times to get him involved but he wanted no part in it. hes the most controlling, stubborn, hard headed person you will ever meet and to boot he has HORRIBLE anger issues. he has a record and was in counseling for years. anyways, when I called him when she turned a month i greatly regret this he would take her while iwas working. after an 8 10 hour shift I would pick her up and he hadn't fed her or changed her diaper, helloo? his excuse was she was sleeping. so I explained once again how and when to do everything even if she's sleeping and gave him another chance but same thing happened. weeks later I finally let him see her again only if he went to his mothers, she's an amazing woman and come to find out he wasnt going. he doesn't bathe her has her.4 days aweek doesn't play or pay attention to her. waits HOURS to change her, force feeds her when she cries to shut her up. yells at her and tells her to shut up she's 6 months she communicates through cryinh I tell him that and he thinks im a liar and I spoil her I don't let him take her anymore but I can only come up with so many excuses I don't have pictures etc for proof, just my mom and friends. is that enough? please help, I don't have a father and I wanted to do the right thing by calling him so she could have a father but it was obviously a HUGE mistake um, no I always thought he was a loser. he took advantage of me when I drank too much .. obviously ifi want his rights taken away I want him OUT OF THE PICTURE not supervised visits, use your head

How can i terminate my kids' fathers rights?
We seperated in may 2006 when i was 8 months preg with our son. we also have a daughter who was 2 at the time. Since then he hasnt tried to see the kids or even call to ask about them. His mom is involved with them and they go to her house and stay the weekend about once a month. He will not go visit them and he only lives about 5 min from his mom. He has been ordered to pay child support but he only paid it for 4 months in 4 years. I believe that my kids are better off without him in their lives at this point. I would rather have his rights terminated and just drop the child support. What do I need to do?I do not want my kids to grow up without a father but I cant force him to be in their life. When we first seperated I even told him I would let the kids go with him on the weekend or whenever he wanted them. He said he didnt want to be around them. I've tried to be civil with him and only talk about the kids the few times that i have seen him but he always wants to argue with me. At one point he was calling me about 2 times a week for about 2 months just to argue about the divorce we had already been divorced for 3yrs and he didnt ask about the kids. NOT 1 TIME and my son was in the hospital and he knew. I havent ever asked him for anything, other than the child support. In the divorce i was willing to give him everything house both cars I dont want anything from him I am work hard to make sure my kids are taken care of.

Family law, fathers rights and full custody of children.?
Hi, I've found out that my partner has been cheating on me. We have 2 small children, we are unmarried but both my children were born after 01 12 03 and I am named on their birth certificates. My question is, what rights do I have as a father. I would like nothing more than to take my children and leave but is this legal given the information above?I do not want to be a " part time dad" , I do not want " access" on weekends or even 50 % of the time. I want to be able to wake up with my children, give them their breakfasts and all the things that makes me a dad. She can have weekend access or whatever else. Is this even possible? Don't get me wrong, she is a fantastic mother to the children but I am also an excellent father and there are no worries about who they would live with in terms of child safety. However , my children are the world to me and seeing them on weekends or every other week is not enough. Basically, I want my kids to live with me, we can both provide stable homes, albeit where I would be living would be slightly more stable. Would I be breaking the law by taking one or both my children and leaving? In answer to Peggy S Its not a case of spite to take them away, we are both brilliant parents and they need a father just as much as a mother. I know I am not your average bum dad, I spend time with my kids, read to them, bath them, dress them, put them to bed and I play a part in every aspect of their lives. Why should that stop because she is unfaithful? If theres such a thing as a mothers bond, then I have the male version of it. Anyway step fathers never love other peoples children as their own either. Just seems like the law is swayed in mothers favour because its sexist. I am every bit as good as a father as she is a mother, this is recognised by her family never mind mine I am not your average Jeremy Kyle dad... Im the exact opposite. In response to Alyson I wouldn't be running away, theres far too much to distrupt in terms of school and family. They would be living with me no more than 4 miles away at my parents house. Lorna She is not an unfit mother and there is nothing but love in the house for the kids. There have been no police incidents, no shouting, no arguing... just infidelity. Judging the answers so far, it would appear that I dont have a leg to stand on unless she agreed to let me have them. I will not break the law and steal the kids, however if I apply for custody the law would steal them away from me. How ironic.

How do i get fathers rights striped when he pays child support?
ive been seperated and divorced for 2 yrs from my ex hunband and i have sole custody without me losing my child support is there anyway for me to strip his rights striped because he is verbally abusive to me in front of the kids and when he calls if i dont pick up at that moment he get mad and starts swearing at me

Can a fathers rights be taken away in Louisiana if he hasn't had any contact with his child in a year?
My son's father has been in and out of his life for 7 years now. He comes around for a month then disappears for about 4 more months then comes around again for a couple of weeks and disappears again. He is always in and out of jail for not paying child support and never has a job. That isn't healthy for my son and he doesn't deserve to be put through that. So, with that said, I'm sure any judge would surely give me sole custody & not give him any visitation rights, right?

Fathers Rights for visitation and work schedule?
i am a divorced father, and I pay child support and see my 3 boys 3 days a week. I work in retail, so my hours are never the same, and my days off are not always the same either. I still manage to see them and have them stay over my house 3 days a week, and we have a great time. The mother has not had a job in 6 months, and just recently got one, and now she wants to dictate a set schedule blindly without taking my work schedule into consideration.....and I give her a months worth of schedule a month in advance......can she dictate the days I see my kids? im not her taxi driver or babysitter......I mean if I work, I work......the court appointed me the kids liberal visitation 3 days a week.....none specific. What are my rights.....she is the custodial parent, but how can she blindly say for example....I must have them every friday Saturday and tuesday for example if I work 2 of those days until 8pm? What are my right?I will add that the custody agreement simply states that i have liberal vistitation 3 days a week.We have been divorced for 18 months, and this now is an issue....and my schedule for work has always been up and down, but she always gets my schedule for 5 weeks in advance.
