Need a family attorney?
My husband and I have had guardianship of his younger brother and sister for almost 18 months now, and for about the first year the courts didn t put a stop order on the child support going from the kids father to their mother, so the money had just been accumulating at the child support office. Since they did not put a stop payment on that money, they told us that with the policy that money has to go back to their mother, even though they were and still are in our custody. The amount is between $5000 and $7000, so I do realize that this is too much to take to small claims court, but I am wondering if someone could tell me the best way to go about finding a family attorney to go fight this. My husband and I live in Arizona and are 24 years old and the kids are 14 and 15, we were not even the slightest bit prepared to take care of other peoples kids, as we don t even have any of our own either, and are now struggling financially we don t want a cheep attorney but at the same time, we cant afford much. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you for your time.Cyclist 2300 the child support office told us that the courts messed up by not stopping the child support going to their mother and in effect the money has to go to her on their end because the court never ordered it to stop. Spaznskitz the kids were taken from their mother by CPS, my husband and I were the only eligible family members that could take them and really didn t have a choice but to take them otherwise they would go to foster homes so I never said we didn t agree to the guardianship, I simply said we were not prepared. The child support office has already told us that the check was sent to their mother and she is a drug addict, there is no way that money is getting to us on their mothers freewill.

I am in a divorce custody battle my wife was cheating on me when i confronted her she took my 2 little girls away from me and went to her mothers. She filed for divorce I understand that if she doesn't want to be with me its fine she doesn't have to, but my kids are a different story. We started to get along them we had come to an agreement on visitations and child support. We went to our temporary hearings and agreed with her attorney on the arrangements part of the arrangement was that i would keep my kids for 1 month out the summer that month happen to fall in July when it was time for her to give up my kids to me she denied them and never answered. Instead she filed a restraining order against me the first day of July were i'm denied visitation for my kids. I tried getting help from everyone, but they could not help me. They made me take a drug test i did it because i know i have nothing to fear I don't drink or have bad habits i work and from work i go home. My kids love me as soon as they see me they jump of happiness and run towards me. i don't have much money and unfortunately that's all attorneys ask for and it seems because i'm a male i have no rights to my kids which that's all i want. i don't know what to do or who to ask for help anymore. I guess being responsible is not enough the mother will always get her way.
What to do when your family attorney realy sucks?
first of all i contacted the attorney to do a emergency order for my ex not to take our kids out of state that cost me 2500. the judge approved i then spent 200. for a private investigater to serve him, wich he did. Well apparently he also has to be served by the sheriff wich did not happen before he left, i dont know why. So our first court day was continued because my attorney never called my name or looked for me in court. I did not know what she looked like because she had changed her wig.I sat in court from 830 until 430 when I was the last person in there the judge informed me that my case had been continued, never heard from the attorney or any assistants that day our second court day came and i was told at 600 pm the night before court that I needed to get at least 5 character refrences from friends and family and they all had to be noterized How was I supposed to get 5 papers written and noterized at 600 pm with court starting at 830 the next morning Anyway I feel completely ignored and forgotten about I feel like i have wasted 2500 dollors on this lady for nothing We still have one more court day. But should I report her or does anyone know to whom I would report her to?

my childrens stepmother is charged with 1st degree child endangerment and my children witnessed it. Their father has chose to go back to her and is trying to make them go over there. The kids DO NOT want to go if she is there. My daughter will have to testify against her at court more than likely and is very scared and confused. this isnt the fist time something has happened there is a long list of domestic reports and other things involving the police.
