Why are divorce laws so anti-men?
My father and I were BOTH kicked out of our previous house during our recent divorce. We ended up living in a terrible house that my father purchased to run his accounting business out of, myself sleeping in a basement without walls or even a bedside table. Some of the pictures that were taken of the basement weren't even shown in court since they were just too bad. We can't afford to fix the place up, and are now being forced to pay my mother ridiculous amounts of money for child support and the like, despite the fact that I go over only once a week for dinner. My mother has, to my own face, denied kicking me out. She's turned my grandparents against me and my father, and WE pay HER for it? He even paid her legal fees He paid HER to divorce HIM Why are the divorce laws so skewed in favor of women?
For anyone who knows the divorce law or have been through this themselves?

About divorce laws in NC?
Hello, my husband and I have not seen or had any contact with each other since Jan. 2004. I was wondering if this was true. My Mother told me that in the state of NC that if you have no clue where your spouse is and have had no contact in 7 years that I am legally divorced and would not have to go through lawyers and a judge that I could just remarry with my current fience. Is this true? If not then, what would I have to do?

Under current UK law, if one partner in a marriage has not been in and is unable to make contact with the other partner, how long will it take until a divorce can be granted without consent of both partners? The marriage has continued for four years up to now, however the separation and loss of contact occurred three years ago. Many thanks.

Divorce Law in Michigan, while pregnant?
My husband has filed for divorce while I am 3.5 mos pregnant with our child. I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if they have any idea on how a judge tends to rule in these cases. I'm basically just trying to find out what I'm in for. Is the judge going to wait until after the child is born to finalize the divorce? Will we have to go through counseling?I have been assigned Judge Gregory Pittman as our ruling judge and we are located in Michigan, if that helps narrow things down. Thanks

Why do family law attorneys fight tooth and Nail when Vets try to get State Divorce laws changed?
Vets are trying to get Oklahoma HB 528 thur to a vote on the Senate floor but Oklahoma Family Law Attorneys are worried that it will cut into their lunch tickets. They also have been spreading BAD information and making up fables to confuse and create hard feelings. Writing untruths in local newspapers even pretending to be a retired military members and saying how they liked paying the ex spouse alimony on websites, They must think where dumb as rocks Also HB 917 this protects our Vets from greedy ex spouses that want a portion of the military members disability esp after if they had been seriously hurt or maimed while in the service. Last week I talked with a army sergent at the VA that had one leg and one arm missing and his ex spouse divorced him here in Oklahoma because she couldn't bare to look at his missing arms and legs. Too add insult to the injury A Oklahoma JUDGE awarded 50 % OF HIS DISABILITY to his ex wife.THIS IS THE REASON WE NEED FAIR DIVORCE LAWS FOR OUR MILITARY.the sergent had no children and had been married 6 8 years while in the ARMY. He told me that the lawyers and judge just called it discretionary income and gave it to his ex spouse as alimony. He was just a little bit bitter, do you blame him?
