Okay, so my sister is wanting a divorce. Neither one of us are sure on how to go about it. Obviously we need leagal documentation. But we're trying to make a game plan here and need some advice on where to start and one child is involved. she is broke but all the furnature is in the house and she has no where to go because she has no job no money nothing because she is caring for her preemie baby. this is a tough sitaution so please be considerate and give insight if possible. thank you

My husband and i are getting a divorce. I have decided to file for it because he put his hands on me. and is constantly calling me names and degrading me. We got married when i was 19 and im just now getting ready to turn 21. it hasnt been a long marriage. anyways it costs $156 to get a divorce in my county but I was talking to a friend today who has been divorced and didnt have to pay anything. She said let them know I dont have a job and that i might be able to get it without having to pay that much. Is this true? is there a way i can do this? I don't have a job right now I'm a full time student and dont have any money. also he keeps harassing me and ive tried blocking his number and everything but he keeps finding ways to do it.

My wife was physical abusive and that is what caused me to leave the house with just the clothes on my back. She filled for the divorce before I could get to it. She does not have an attorney as far as I know. She is trying to split our debt in half, but she is saying we owe her mother a large amount of money. I never seen any of that money. I also sold my car to pay on her car and we agreed at the time that part of our tax money would go to me getting a replacement. That never happen, so I have no transportation because of this and also had to leave my job because I had to move 90 miles away to stay with my parents. What can I do because I can not afford a lawyer. If bills are split, does the court monitor them, or force you to make certain payments. Is there any help on my side because of the abuse. It was reported at a hospital that she admitted to being abusive, but I did not get any help from them. What can I do to??? The marriage filed because of her violent behavior.the hospital visit was because she wanted to kill herself and asked me to admit her.

We have been married 3 years and I had my 401K since 97 and he has only been contributing to one for about 2 years. I have been told he would be entitled to say it was worth 70,000 when we got married and now its 100,000 they said he would get half of this gain, but others have said he is only entitled to half of the actual contribution amounts which I believe I have put in about $12000, can anyone tell me which is correct? I have no problem sharing, but why should he be entitled to any of the accrued interest earnings when at any time with the market that could tank?

Okay one of my friends were married in DeKalb County and they now want a divorce but they live in noble county. In Noble County they say that you have to draw up your own divorce papers and hire an attorney, but in DeKalb County you don't. Would she be able to do it through DeKalb County since she got married there? And if not, does anyone have examples of there own papers or know any cheap attorneys??
