Can any body help me what is divorce alimony ?
Shorter version of my question: married then then couldnt work then miscarried now he wants divorce, alimony?
i was struggling before we got married as it was, but got help from mom to make minimum payments for my personal credit cards. i owed 2500 in total and wasnt behind at all. i got pregnant and he said he would take care of me, my bills, clothes, food, get us a place, etc. he never made any payments on those bills now i owe 3700 becuz i fell behind. he didnt want me to work at all and i was sick a lot. i did turn down a couple job offers and could hardly seek employment becz most jobs required more work then i could do. i had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago. i havent been to a dr. yet. he wants to get divorced and tried to take my ring 2 days ago. im afraid he'll take me off of the insurance. he wont speak to me at all. we never owned anything together but since i couldnt work from being pregnant and now im severly depressed am i entitled to any financial support or anything at all? we were only married 3 months ago
Divorce alimony payment?
if i get divorced I understand that marital assets will likely be divided equally, when determining alimony will the courts be able to change it if my business and income rise greatly, or will it stand as is at the time of divorce?
Divorce alimony question after 32 year marriage?
my ex husband paid me a small rehabilative alimony for 3 years after we were married 32 years and divorced at his request. I did get the equity small in the home we had owned marital home that still had a mortgage on it He was self employed and I now have reason to believe he hid most of his income... Now 17 years have passed. I was unskilled and not able to earn much and responsible for a disabled grown child.. I argeed to that deal because like most women I did not want to have to move out of my home, I was heartbroken enough. big mistake Now I am living in poverty, elderly with health issues, He is living well probably off investments he did not disclose.. Everyone who hears this story says I should try to reopen the case and go after him for money. I hesitate because of the time that has passed. I never did before as his new girlfriend intimidated and threatened me and I just wanted it all to be over... My question is do you think I would have a case? Would you do this if U were me?? Thank you for any advice you could offer... Now I hear that this phenomenon is called the " gray divorce" and it is becoming more and more common for couples to split after a very long marriage.. Thanks again, blessings to you for any help...
Divorce & Alimony - Dad's a drug addict, Mom's brings in money - does she have to pay alimony if they divorce?
My dad spent 6 months in jail earlier this year and has twice been tested positive for crack by his P.O. in recent months. He's been doing crack cocaine for 5 or 6 years. He pays for absolutely nothing no mortgage, no food, no utilities, no insurance and makes about $800 every two weeks on workers compensation. My mother makes the mortgage and all bills and makes about $70,000 year after taxes. Since my dad has a very current drug record, will my mom be forced to pay alimony if they divorce? The house and mortgage are both in my mothers name. Any help and sources will be great. Thanks for your answers...I'm 21 actually, we have no minor children in our household. It may be worth noting that my mother also pays a large portion of mine and my siblings tuition. We receive nothing from our father.

Divorce - Alimony/Child Support 'Stay married or get divorced?'?
What is the name of your state only U.S. law ? California I have been with my boyfriend for over a year and he is currently legally married he's 36 she's 34 married 17 years and very young he has been separated not legally for over 2 years after they lost their house he was the sole income provider they have 3 boys, which he gives her $1500 every month without fail and see's his boys 2 5 times a week, gets them on the weekends and the youngest practically lives with him. He makes 60,000 a year and she has been working for over 2 years not sure what her income is , we want to move in together and get married. He is a very hard worker and an amazing father to his son's and aside from the support he buys all their clothes, shoes and anything that they need. He wants to start the divorce because I refuse to move in with him since he's legally married. But now that I have been searching online about divorce maybe it's better to leave the situation as is. How much alimony spousal support and for how long would the California Law make him pay his wife? Also he has saved all receipts for his Child Support paid to her for the past 26 months. Does anyone know how much more he would have to pay her? I appreciate your help or any advice I just don't want him to get the divorce to add any stress since he had a stroke last year died and came back, but has a hospital job with great benefits for himself and his kids. But she has been trying to get back with him for the last year and showed up to his job and hit him after he asked her to leave and he had to call security to escort her out.

Divorce/alimony....questions?
If a woman were to try and get a divorce, but she makes more money that here husband, would she be obligated to pay alimony. The woman in question is my mother. Her husband of 4 years is and abusive alcoholic, who spends hundreds of dollars a month in gambling. He receives ssi and gambles it all away. In their marriage he has only ever paid 1 electric bill, And my mothers health insurance. Which is about 300 a month. He also paid of the amount my mother had left on her house, which was about 14,000.She pays for all the other bills, his cell phone internet, groceries. He wont even drive his own car, he drives one of hers, so his vehicle wont get run down.He has already seen a lawyer , and said to my mother " you have set me of for life" Implying that she has made him financially secure. He said he was going to take everything she has worked for her whole life. We live in kentucky, and the alimony laws are different than most places. Here is a link that states the laws helpyourselfdivorce.com kentucky alimony.html .He has a lot of money in 401k and draws close to 2000 a month is ssi benefitsHe said he is going to try and take her money for the building he built on her property and the concrete driveway he put in.My question is , in your opinion, if she has a chance to get out of this without having to pay alimony, and or paying him for the things he did, money he spent paying off the house. MY mother doesnt want anything, but HER things, and to have no ties to him.Thanks..

This is about divorce/alimony?
Ok so my boyfriend's parents were divorced no big deal ok shit happens but heres the sticker his dad moved to alaska in an effort to transfer the whole family there 5 years ago his mom was trying to " sell" the house and refused to go lower even though it was a over inflated price she then decided to accuse her husband of cheating on her when he sent all of his extra money besides for bills and food for himself to her and was working 2 jobs and rarely had time to do anything except sleep when he got off work. she then served him with divorce papers and him being too broke from losing his second job couldnt afford to come back for all the court meetings she got everything except their rv which he got but is on the property because he cant afford to go back because she's getting " spousal maintenance" seeing as she is in wisconsin its not alimony AND child support he automatically loses 45 % of every check to child support and then has to write out a check for her one time he got a check of 1300 and only saw 300 of it she recently went back to court to apply for full custody of their 2 still underage children the older two are out except my boyfriend who has to stay with his dad instead of coming back because his dad has no money anymore because of her ok now she got the full custody only because she did it while the kids were away visiting their dad so they couldnt testify against it what i need to know is what can he do to even things out because my boyfriend cant afford to move because he has to stay to help his dad because of his mom we were getting ready to move in together when this happenedhe's 22 the only reason he hasnt left his dad is because if he did his dad would end up on the streets without his help
