Can I do anything to spend up attorneys in a divorce?
I filed for divorce over a year ago and not the first step has been taken by my soon to be ex or their attorney. They both keep making excuses and putting things on hold, etc. Is there anything myself or my attorney can do to make them speed things? This is in Florida BTW.

When going through divoce did the attorneys just take your word for what ever you complained about your spouse?
My soon to be ex complained to her attorney I email her to much. Yea i did because the bills were coming in and she wouldn't send any money. She told her attorney I have not paid my portion of the bills so I had get my bank statement together and other receipts to my attorney to show I have indeed paid my half plus more. It seems like she can go tell her attorney anything and he just jumps and reacts not knowing whether its true or not what an idiotI should add the divorce is not final yet and yea it is like a no fault settlement but for some reason everytime she has a grip about something she runs to her attorney. Maybe something more is going on there.

I know you aren't attorneys but can someone give their opinion on my situation. can i get joint custody?
I'm 23 and I know that it sounds terrible but I live with my mom after my ex kicked me out of the apartment. My mom lives with my sister so i am sleeping in the same room with my mom for now i plan to move out but i only work part time and it's hard to save money. i am angry with my ex because she kicked me out and keeping me away from my daughter. my mom takes care of my daughter while my ex is at work and she goes over to her house. but i barely spend time with my daughter because i work nights and i need to sleep during the day. and also because my sister's daugther lives here too and she hits my daughter so i rather not have her here. so i dont see her that much. i haven't given my ex any money since she kicked me out because first of all she decided to kick me out so she should deal with the consequences right? that's how she decided things to be. also, i'm broke i have my own expenses i dont have a full time job like she does. she also makes so much more and still expects me to help her out?? Yesterday she told me was going to get an attorney because wants to have the custody legalized. I'm ok with that but I want to have joint custody and i want my kid to live with me half of the time. I know she is good with her mom because my ex has a home to herself and she also pays for her health insurance and food and things like that BUT like i said before i don't work enough to provide all of that. my job doens't provide benefits. my ex can do it on her own. Also, a year ago we got into a fight because she was accusing me of cheating when i wasn't so i got really angry and attacked her. I didn't punch her but i did shove her and push her agaisnt the wall. i was sorry about that although i never told her she called the cops but she never filed a report so i guess i was off the hook. i'm wondering if that can be used against me. I love my daughter. she's my world .. i am wondering if i stand a chance considering i dont even have an attorney... thanks

Is there a legal way to divorce someone without the high cost of attorneys?
Married 42 years to abusive man and desperately need to divorce him soon. I currently have no money of my own. He totally controls all of it and allows me to have $10 a week he removed me from our bank account 4 years ago . Both of us are retired, have a mortgage, one car and little furniture. His retirement is $3500 and I will begin to receive $1500 in 8 months when I turn 60. Not sure how to proceed. Is there anyone out there that knows a way to divorce without expensive attorneys? I am in Oregon which I believe is a no fault community property state.

I was given power of attorney over my step kids while my husband is deployed...do i have to give.....?
Do I have to give a copy of my power of attorney paper to my husbands ex wife? She has the divorce and child custody decree and claims I HAVE to give her a copy even though it has nothing to do with her. Just authorizes me general care, well being, and medical care authorization as well as ability to speak on his behalf due to his inability to contact out much. This ex always causes problems for us as is trying to now. She claims he can go to jail for it. Yet it doesn't state in decree that its manditory. I tried showing this woman the form in person and she walked away saying she will only speak to my husband. She's very difficult.

Does any one know of a good attorney who will fight CPS in Montgomery County, TX?
I have consulted with one attorney and she is just telling me to divorce my husband and make it easy for CPS to give my kids back. WTF? What ever happened to preserving a family? I am looking for a lawyer who will actually fight.

I am looking for an excellent family law attorney in or near Quincy, IL?
Can anyone recommend an attorney that specializes in child custody modification in Quincy, IL? I am doing some research for a friend. He is seeking full custody of his daughter and he knows that it is going to extremely difficult. He feels it is in his daughter's best interest to be with him and not her mother. Last year his daughter was in 6 different schools and within a 30 day timeframe she was absent 19 days. She likely is going to have to repeat this school year. He has great difficulty keeping in contact with her mother because she is constantly moving and her phone is always disconnected. He truely feels it is in his daughter's best interest to be with him because he can provide a stable and loving environment for her. Again, he knows this is going to be extremely difficult and wants the best attorney. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I only am interested in suggestions for attorneys. I do not need any hateful comments. Thank you.

My husband just served me divorce papers from the attorney I used with my first divorce is this attorney able?
to take this case even though she has personal knowledge from my first divorce.

Is there anyone can be able help to low income person to get a divorce attorney?
There is a low income person who is unemployed and collect SSDI income. His wife left him three years ago and recently won't provide financial information to the services for him to get a medicaid that caused medicaid denied. He needs help to get a divorce attorney. He did try to get Legal Aid and Legal clinic but they can't help him. He did try Volunteer Lawyer Project but it takes eight weeks after fill out application. A lot or attorney is cost too much for low income person that can not be able to afford it. Is there a way anyone can be able to help him to get a divorce lawyer?

How long is too long to not hear back from your divorce attorney?
I signed all of my papers back in September it is now mid December , and the last I knew, my attorney was attempting to find my spouse, as I had since lost touch with them. I have not heard anything and I am beginning to become worried. I have never dealt with lawyers before so I am not sure on the etiquette appropriate for this situation. I sent a short email asking for a small update, but that was now over a week ago. Should I call? or has not enough time passed? Please I am very concerned. My spouse and I never owned property or had children together, so there are no complications of that sort. thanks in advance.

Is it legal for my wife’s attorney to have an investigator hack the contents of my e-mails for my wife?
My wife has been solicited by an investigator that works for a divorce attorney. This investigator is a client of my wife s my wife is in the medical field and has offered this service for free to her in an attempt to dig up dirt on me that might possibly lead my wife to want to divorce me and in turn become a paying client for the attorneys services. This has caused a huge riff in our relationship as my wife has made me aware that she s having me investigated. Currently this investigator has hacked personal e mails that my wife did not have the passwords to and has forwarded her all the content of the account. My wife has now informed me that this investigator is hacking into my work e mail and they have a meeting this Thursday to go over the findings. First In my mind this cannot be legal and I would like to hear from someone that knows the law on this.Secondly My wife and I have been married for 16 years and we have 3 children. This attorney seems to have found a way to gain clientele by offering this free service, but it has been devastating to our relationship and once it s over theirs not going to be anything to justify a divorce. Can attorney s legal do this to people? Is this a common practice? What action if any can I take against the investigator and or the divorce attorney...????

Wife served divorce she has no attorney?
The Wife tried to reconcile, she sought help, he decided he was going to do the divorce. He made demands, changed agreement, and refused to let her have the paperwork to show to an attorney to see if legal. She has no job, nor attorney, and not sure if she will have a place to live. Can you tell me what options or help there is for her.
