Question: Is ok cupid (a free online dating service) safe against fake profiles by people who want to humiliate others?

- The city I live in isn't large but it isn't small. A large number of the OKcupid users are from the largest local university, which I go to and has about 25, 000 students. The university community is somewhat large but still makes for somewhat of a small world. - On the profile of one female match who attends the same university, she claims that she "gives marvelous blowjobs " in the box labeled "what is the most private thing you would say on okcupid? ". - For this example, and others like it, do you think that it is possible that fake profiles could have be made by say frat boys or anyone who might get a kick out of humiliating online daters? - Tell me how safe you think OKcupid and free online dating is against this.

The first lesson is this: "Nothing on the internet is real ". There is nothing to stop fake profiles here or anywhere else. If you don't want to be humiliated, don't put yourself in that position.

Fake profiles can be posted anywhere. None of them are safe.

How can any site such as this one be free ffrom such people? i could go onto that site right now and make a profile with the intension of humiliating people. you cant let that stop you because it can never be guaranteed. just go for it but be safe
