I just turned 28 on August 12. Boy, how time flies Just yesterday I was a na ve 13 year old moving to a new state and starting middle school. WOW Anyway, I am in a wheelchair for the time being due to a medical mistake that left me having to learn how to walk all over again. Otherwise, I function just like any other average 28 year old though I still live with my parents.My mom's car is adapted with hand controls so I drive. Gosh, how I hate highways, LOL I work from home but do frequent my job's main office downtown often.I do sometimes need a little help when going to the bathroom and or shower but that is getting easier.I am currently a member of eharmony.com and have met some REALLY nice guys in my desired age range, profession, geographic area, etc. who don't immediately balk when I tell them that I am in a wheelchair.BUT, unfortunately, I have also come across a good number of guys, who I wait to tell until I've talked to them for a REALLY long time and seem to get along with, but upon my telling them they either immediately cease contact, slowing disappear, never to be heard from again or they come up with some lame a excuse as to why they can't talk to me anymore.Since this has happened, I have ALWAYS been of the mind that the wheelchair is MERELY my temporary mode of transportation NOT WHO I AM I maintain healthy outlook on life and see NO reason to be depressed despite others finding it fascinating and odd that I am not on first, any anti depressant medication, second, jealous of people that CAN walk and third my fave have thoughts of suicide.I am NOT any of these because whether it be in the outside world or online, I have found guys that just CANNOT get past my current physical disability to get to know the person inside and I just say F K YOU, YOU DON T KNOW WHAT YOU RE MISSING But, back to my original question. Does anyone know of any dating web sites where young physically handicapped people frequent??Thanks to anyone who replies.P.S. I have tried match.com and jdate.com dating site for Jewish people. If ANYONE reading this is physically handicapped and looking for dating web site to try, take my advice and STAY AWAY FROM THESE I know from personal experience that they DO NOT have caring people as members. As I check our e mail account there has been messages from match, and dating sites addressed to my husband. Yes his name is actually on it. How do I approach him knowing he's going to deny it? There like 3 different sites. We have had some problems in the past, but I thought we were working on them. Why would he let messages come to a shared e mail address? I tried match.com and feel like I wasted nearly $100. I'm trying to get my money back from them at the moment. The majority of the profiles aren't active and those that are are not attractive women.That said have you ever used any dating web sites? Such as eharmony? I tried that when I was 22 and it was so so the main problem I ran into was the fact that the majority of the women were 25 and refused to date a younger guy.I'm hesitant to use eharmony because it is a more serious dating web site and I'm not entirely sure I want a real serious relationship right now. But I do want some form of companionship. Any suggestions?Church isn't my thing so that's not going to happen. I'm not religious at all.
