What could this man from a dating web site be up to?
I know there's something strange going, on but I thought I would ask for other opinions for what it could be. I'm not gullible and sometimes I think I'm even over cautious, but I just can't work this one out. I joined a dating web site and had a message from a man who wrote quite a long message where in some parts he sounded OK but other said a few strange things, such as he went to Oxford university, London, when Oxford university isn't in London. Then he said he worked with his father until his father died, then later on in the same long message he said he works with his dad. He said he now lives in California in the USA. If he's making it up for some reason, I can't work out why as he hasn't asked for anything or sent me anything to download. As I was suspicious I looked for his email on google and there were a couple of adverts where one was for a flat to rent out in Derby, UK, and another advert was for British bull dog puppies based in Derby. If he said he lives in the USA, then why would the adverts from the same email be based in Derby? What could he be up to? I haven't given him any personal details or downloaded anything, so I'm not sure what he could be up to. Don't think I'm serious about him or would be upset or anything, as I think I just put the advert on out of curiosity to see who would answer, as I'm bit busy at the moment to really do any dating.A scam for what though?

Ok, here's the deal. I get an email from a user and shortly after I get an email from a different user warning me that the first user that emailed me is bad news. This has also occurred with me. someone out there is contacting people that I've emailed on POF and telling them negative things about me. How could someone find out who I've contacted when they have no access to my computer?

I tried match.com and feel like I wasted nearly $100. I'm trying to get my money back from them at the moment. The majority of the profiles aren't active and those that are are not attractive women.That said have you ever used any dating web sites? Such as eharmony? I tried that when I was 22 and it was so so the main problem I ran into was the fact that the majority of the women were 25 and refused to date a younger guy.I'm hesitant to use eharmony because it is a more serious dating web site and I'm not entirely sure I want a real serious relationship right now. But I do want some form of companionship. Any suggestions?Church isn't my thing so that's not going to happen. I'm not religious at all.
