My boyfriend lied about having a online dating personals account?
When I first starting dating my bf he was involved with the yahoo personals and had a membership, this was a couple of years ago, well he said he is no longer a member and I believed him until the other day I was cleaning our house and looked at his credit card statement that was left on the counter, I saw the charge for this dating service and he is still enrolled. He said he wasn't and he knows he is not being charged because he checks his statement like a hawk, he said this before he knew I knew. Now he is denying it and mad at me for looking but I Is this lie acceptable? What does this mean. I know it is not right to look at his statement but thats beside the point now because he lied and now I know

What are the best dating/personals websites?
A few years ago I used faceparty but it looks like it's invite only now...myspace seems full of teens... and isn't really a dating site, I'm in my 30s looking for something with the 20 30 40 somethings...a lot of the others I've looked seem to charge, but I'd rather have a look around and don't know if it's worth paying...any recommendations?I live in the UK and know all about the pros and cons and can quite easily spot a fraud. I was in a 4 year relationship with someone I met online, before that I dated a few girls via faceparty and lycos but those sites don't seem so great now...
Truth in Dating Personals?
In reading many dating ads, prominent among the most commonly stated preferences are " financially stable secure" , and I'd really like to get a better sense of what this really means.I totally get that no woman wants to spend hours primping only to be picked up by some guy wearing a Nirvana shirt who's 2 hours late because he had to duct tape his muffler and have to worry about what to order for dinner in case she winds up being asked to pick up the check or pitch in for gas. I also get, from a broader perspective, that she might want someone she may hope to date further to be able to share the kinds of activities she may be able to afford on her own. And while love can overcome economic differences when two people otherwise have much to share in common and the difference in resources doesn't manifest in a parasitic manner, it's certainly easy to appreciate why someone would prefer to not begin a relationship knowing it will have to overcome what is yet one more challenge or is predisposed to require one party, in both practical and emotional terms, to carry more than his or her fair share. People want relationships that enhance, rather than detract, from the fullness of their lives and I don't think that's necessarily materialistic or selfish. And in a worst case, nobody wants to be emotionally exploited for someone else's financial gain.Since the economic meltdown, however, one thing's sure a lot of people's economic statuses have been radically changed. Though it may be affecting to a greater extent those who once held highly compensated positions but developed absolutely no appreciation for the concept of saving for a rainy day, it's hit a great many responsible people who saved and lived well beneath the lifestyle their credit cards could have helped them acquire but not necessarily keep .So, even with all these things in mind, I still have a hard time distilling them down into exactly what they actually mean. What is " financially stable" or " secure" ? And with the economic downturn effecting every conceivable demographic, there are certainly many women participating in the dating " scene" whose own financial characteristics may not be as ahem... " ideal" as the ones they include among their " looking for" criteria. I think everybody would agree that " living with folks" and " drives a pair of Converse" probably don't cut it but what does, especially when someone who may not have a relatively high income can certainly be both self supporting and secure, especially in a relative sense? After all, someone may drive a well maintained 10 year old car simply because it continues to be reliable and far more affordable without being either cheap or a deadbeat. So, from women who've " been there, done that" , are these among your list of dating " minimums" , and just what do they actually mean? Does someone with a clean apartment, a serviceable car that's not in danger of being repossessed, I have a retirement account that I fund each month and enough money saved to provide a safety net for 6 months of unemployment qualify? Or must he drive a car that YOU would like to be seen riding in and be able to afford any activity you'd like both of you to do together and even pay your way if you decide you don't want to?I'm not being sarcastic, and I'm not sand bagging anyone. And even knowing that it's going to mean different things to different people, I just seriously don't know the answer or how to interpret what these things mean. I'm very fortunate in that I work hard at a job that pays me enough to afford a life I find to be comfortable, and I earn enough that if my income were to end tomorrow, my savings could support me for a considerable period, but I have no idea if even that measures up to what most people mean or are these really pretty much just code words for " house, BMW, vacations, and Armani" ?Well, I'm not sure I'm any closer to decoding this phenomenon's broad spectrum of meanings, but it certainly seems there are some guilty consciences by the leaps made that I must be asking in a derragatory sesnse or that I even happen to be dating at all, which I'm not .Methinks the she's who have replied thus far may protest a bit too much.
